No "Games for Gold" section after signing in?

I recently got my XBox and connected it to my older game profile I already had (created during the days of Games for Windows) and coupled it to my LIVE account.

However, I constantly experience the following issue:

BEFORE I sign in with my profile:

When showing the "XBox home" meny in the dashboard the tile/section for "Games for Gold" is showing as expected.

AFTER I sign in with my profile:

When showing the "XBox home" meny in the dashboard the tile/section for "Games for Gold" has vanished and pretty much the very same sections/tiles are showing up all the time. I.e. they never ever change.

First if I sign out the "XBox home" meny shows the actual tiles.

Bug or feature?

Sorry to hear you missed out on those promos.

There is not a way for you to reacquire those titles now that the promotions are over. For the future Games with Gold promotions, you can find the titles announced on your console in the Games section or on
majornelson.com

I also have the same problem as op. My games with gold tab is not on my dashboard or in games section. I have searched for over an hour in every section with no luck! i rang suipport and they said they would do a ticket, but that was a week ago. As im in
australia and the lady i spoke to was american im not holding my breath. And i know i can download the games from this site, however this months 'Army Of Two: Devils Cartel' will not work from the site. :-/

Again. After signing in the "Xbox home" menu ("start" in my case) always shows the same tiles, no matter what.

 

The placement of the tile will vary sometimes. I tend to find the Games with Gold link in the Browse Games section. Alternatively, you can just look up the game on your console.

I found the problem: Inconsistent privacy preferences in my profile: On my XBox I had different ones than I had in my online profile at live.com.

I solved this by first deleting the profile on my console, downloading it again and reset the privacy settings to a default (e.g. adult) before adjusting them again.

However, I guess that must be a BUG.

Another one is probably related to Microsofts realisation of "language" and "locale" settings: Using a unusual language for a locale (E.g. German in Sweden) you will not be able to receive some game info: All I get is the infamous "800700E8" error code.
As soon as I adjust the language to what is expected for the respective locale everything just works fine.
