No game sound through headset

hi hope someone can help I suddenly can't get any game sound brought any of my headsets i have an xbox one ftted with adaptor. The mc and chat works fine. Any help would be appreciated.

No sound through headset?

Like I said before, I had this problem, and while troubleshooting, somehow both my controllers stopped working too. (When I would turn them on, the light would blink like it's trying to connect, then it would go solid as if it had successfully connected,
but then none of the buttons would actually do anything.)

When I was trying to get my controllers to work again, I tried turning the Xbox off and back on by pressing the button on the front of the Xbox. A friend of mine pointed out that if you press and hold the button for 5 seconds, it really turns it off, if
you just press and let go, it basically just puts it to sleep. The 5 second hold got my controllers working again, I'm hoping it fixed the headset too, although I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

No sound through headset?

I had the exact same problem. At first I thought the mic was working, but later realized that my friend was hearing me through the Kinect's microphone. I tried switching the headset to my second controller, but then at some point both my controllers stopped
working too.

I have the Microsoft chat headset model 1564. It gives no game sound. Pushing on the volume + button it will eventually beep when it apparently reaches max volume. I tried the skype app and can hear the skype app but the microphone does not record with skype.
I did this with both of my wireless controllers, also Microsoft products.

To further test the problems, I used a RIG 400LX headset both with the amplifier/mixer which plugs into the USB port on the controllers and also bypassing the amplifier/mixer using the 3.5 mm plug directly into the controllers. I also tested a simple Samsung
headset designed for cellphones. On each of those three separate tests on each controller, I had game sound and the microphone worked. Skype also worked fine. Therefore I'm left to conclude there is a software/firmware issue with these headsets or some type
of setting issue which I have not been able to find. It's not worth wasting anymore time on, I'm simply going to get rid of the headset. There has to be a better product out there or a better support page than what Microsoft has provided.

In order to get game sound through the headset, you will have to go to the console's audio settings, and set the game audio to be played through the headset as well.

Otherwise only chat sound will be played through the headset.

After setting up sound through the headset, you can also choose to have stereo sound, or Spatial 3D sound through Windows Sonic. Or if you have purchased the Dolby Atmos app (you can try it for free for 14 days), you can also use Dolby Atmos for headphones.

I play with sound on, but through my headset. I like playing sound through my headset while gaming and playing music. Its weird for me play it through the TV unless Im alone.

This happens to me too, SOMETIMES (and I stress that, because it's less often that not) I can resync the controller and get it to work and SOMETIMES (same caveat) I can go to the kinect settings and toggle "use kinect for game chat" and get it to work. Otherwise
rebooting the console with the headset plugged into the controller always works.... such an annoyance and painful embarrassing for it being heir third console. I assume it's a bug but it's hard to search since you get so many stereo headset and 360 results.
