No Game Audio through wired headphones

So i just got my Xbox about a year ago,

whenever I would play before I would be able to change the setting where I could hear just the party I was in or hear both the game and the party. But now that setting doesn’t come up and whenever I try using my headphones even when I’m not in a party I
can’t hear the game audio when I’m in a party it works I could hear the party just fine but I still can’t hear the game.

Ive also tried on other controllers connected to my xbox, reset the xbox and it still didnt work. When i connected to my sisters Xbox/controller it worked

they are the same as the standard xbox one s controllers, so with pc you can use via bluetooth(audio through headphone jack not supported)

or wired(supports audio via headphone jack)

I believe that Xbox controllers only transmit and receive audio through the Xbox wireless signal and not via Bluetooth. If using Bluetooth to connect the controller, you need to use a different method for audio. Wired controllers and controllers connected with the Microsoft wireless dongle can use the headphone jack for audio.

Make sure your wired headphones are properly connected to the 3.5mm audio port on the controller. Make sure the connector is securely inserted into the port.

Sounds coming from headphones and TV at the same time is normal for the console...the other day I left my stereo on (my TV is wired through it) and couldn't work out why the audio from my headphones sounded different!

As to the audio through a headset being lower quality, that would depend really....if the audio signal for the headset is coming directly from the Xbox (wireless headset or wired), then I'd argue it's better quality than that carried to the TV via the HDMI cable. For me, my wireless headset is plugged into my controller (using an adapter) and the sound quality is miles better than the TV is capable of (is even better than my very good stereo too)
