No friends list in Xbox game bar after changing email on microsoft account

Hey! I just had a similar issue and heres the steps i took that fixed this,

I opened the xbox app, not the game bar.

i signed out of my microsoft account from there, as well as signing out on the game bar

I signed back in and opened the game bar after

And boom my friends list was appearing again!

I do have friends who own the consoles, so I may be able to do that if there is no other way. So in short, I have to download my Account/Gamertag to the console, wait 30 days after that, and then as Vibroplex said earlier:

• "On the console, sign in with your account to change then do Settings | Account (Account Management) | -> -> Account Security | Change Microsoft Account"?
  

That will not change any of my achievements, games owned on the account, gamertags ect, correct? Just the Microsoft Email account associated and used to log into my Xbox Live account with. (Excuse all the questions please, just like to be sure. I appreciate
all the help! )

(I only made this account yesterday/the day before, and am planning on changing my Gamertag name. So the name is just the default that I havent changed yet and dont care for haha.)

I am wanting to change the Microsoft account Email my Xbox Live account is associated with, and keep my games/achievements that I have tied to this current Xbox Live game account/Gamertag. I use Windows Live, and don't have an Xbox, so I can't change it
through the Xbox console.

As I had said above, I named my Microsoft email the name of a different (Non microsoft) Email I have, thus when I get emails from XboxLive letting me know that someone has replied to a post I've made, or a confirmation code email is sent to me, it comes
to the non-microsoft email of the same name instead.

I would just make a new Microsoft Account and Xbox live account and forget about this one, but problem is that I already have one game tied to this Xbox live account (Batman Arkham Asylum), and I don't think there is a way to transfer games to different
Xbox Live Accounts/Gamertags. So I need to keep this Xbox Live account.

So really all I am looking to do is change the microsoft email Account used to log in to Xbox Live, but keep my games and such on this Xbox Live account. If that makes sense haha.

Unfortunately not. I would recommend adding a new email as your primary email and keeping the old account.

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with changing alias on a Microsoft Account.

When changing the alias on the account it has to be a new email or a 3rd party email. You will receive an error is you are trying to use an active Microsoft email, for example: hotmail.com, outlook.com.

I recommend reviewing the following article: Change the email address or phone number for your Microsoft account

• A new email address. Select Create a new email address and add it as an alias, and then follow the instructions.

• A non-Microsoft email address (such as an @gmail.com or
  @yahoo.com email address). Select Add an existing email address as a Microsoft account alias, and then select Add alias.
