No friend notification , April update

Not seeing any of my friends pop up when they log in??

microsoft is listening and giving the community what they want. not a bad thing... i just don't want it to be like 360 where every time someone logs on it shows them... i would be ok if it was favorites only. as for the blue ray.. havn't used it yet..... they need to fix the headset stuff tho.. i know they are catching allot of heat with the xo7 and astros not working in full digital.. need ot get that ironed out asap for those players who purchased with the adapter.

 

it auto sets it to favorites...go to "settings", "preferences", all the way down left hand side to "sign-in & broadcast" and change it to "all friends" OR leave it set to favorites and just favorite a few friends you want to know when they're online.

 

It's good to have this notification back. Now if only they would bring the party grouping tiles back so I can see who my friends are in party chat with. I really don't know why they removed that entirely.

I remember it being brought up a while back. That is something I would like.

 

@ U gO, I might try this next time I'm on my Xbox 1 console (it's 1 am for me).

It would be great if it works like friend notifications on the 360 (eg. you sign into Xbox, Xbox tells you how many friends are using their Xbox 360/Xbox 1 console online). I'm not really into categorizing my friends. But for Xbox 1, I've already favourite'd
my favourite friends just so that I can get a notification when they come online.

 

Is there the option to remove followers without blocking them, it would be handy if it's not there, I was playing BF a while back and this player just kept t-bagging and being a tool in general, I left the game when it finished and the next day I had a new
follower, guess who, but I would have preferred just to remove, I didn't think it deserved a block.

 

After not having this feature for awhile I now see how annoying it is.

 

Same here Burst Axe; I was amazed at how I received 10 pop-ups in 10 minutes during a movie.

Also, Cloud the category idea was mine. The idea that you could create your own groups in addition to having your favorites to categorize your friends into things like real-life friends, family, or even by game were all examples that I gave.

 

I would like them to add categories for friends.

I like that idea... or better yet, a set of default categories along with a few user customizable ones. Maybe a group for your clan if you're in one? Or for however you want to
categorize it.

What I think would be really cool is a gaming groups option. FE, If I play TF, I could have a 'TF Group' in my F/L. I could (if I opted to) set up that group to auto-add anyone
from my F/L who plays TF to that Group and notify me when they start playing TF. I could also (again if I opted to) set it up to only notify me when I'm playing TF, or anytime, in case I want to play something else until I see a few people start playing and
then join them.

Of course it should all be optional... right down to deciding if you'd even want a 'Gaming Group' or not. That way nobody has to deal with a bunch of annoying notifications if
they don't want them.

 

@Galactic Yes. I can't imagine having a ton of notifications popping up anymore. This is no longer a simple gaming console for me. These notifications now occur during regular TV and it really irks me. I turned them off and will stick to using the Smartglass
feature to see who is online.

 

@evi i have had this unknown followers what i did was is block than unblock than there gone

 

Not to mention the pop-ups are quite big and take up an annoying part of the screen.
