No free month of Xbox Game Pass after paying with PayPal (recent Promotion)

Hi

On 16th October I purchased one month of Xbox Game Pass with PayPal as per this promotion:

However I not received anything in my Xbox message centre. Are there any delays in codes being sent out?

issue with games pass PayPal promotion

I bought a month worth of Xbox games pass on the 15th of October during the recent PayPal promotion, buy one month through paypal and get another free. I was concerned about how this would show up on my subscriptions so I contacted support, simply to just
ask the question. After a very nice phone call, I was told to wait 2 weeks to receive the code through an Xbox message no later than the 29th. The date past no messages, I found another question on here about the same issue and just said to give it a couple
more days and still nothing. While i was on the phone to support I questioned my eligibility and they confirmed that I'm fully eligible to receive the free month.

Paypal free Game Pass month code not received (Italy)

Thanks for the answer but I think my problem has been misunderstood.

According to the promotional page, that is no longer avaiable, I was supposed to receive an extra month of Game Pass after buying and paying a month of Game Pass with Paypal, with a code sent via Xbox Message, after 2 weeks.

I buyed the code on october 17, a month have passed and I didn't get any code and my Game Pass is about to expire.

I also sent a DM to Xbox Support via Twitter but i get no answer...

Hi there,

if I recall correctly the promotion said to give it at least to weeks (or similar wording) so it might be the case that it will be send out after 3 weeks.

I would advise to wait another two weeks and if it still wasn't delivered via Xbox Live Message to contact Xbox Support to see if they can look into it.

I've tried Twitter support who directed me to here: Contact Us | Xbox Support But this is no good because I just get stuck in a 'loop' with the virtual assistant when I just need someone to look into the issue.

So the issue remains unresolved for me.

I'm in the same boat. Got redirected here because for some reason the support agent i spoke to on chat had no way of looking into my account to see. It's a bizarre way of operating to send you to a forum for assistance when you have a support agent directly
engaged and they can look at your account.

Anyway, like others, i was never a game pass subscriber with a recurring membership. I had a trial going at the time this promotion appeared so i purchased a 1 month subscription using PayPal for payment expecting i would receive the 1 month code. That was
on 17 October.

 

If you already paid Gamepass once, the trial will not work.

 

It stated in the T&C's it's nothing to do with a trial and was a promotional offer open to new and existing customers.

Promotional offers that include a digital code for the content being included in the promotion can take longer than the stated time on the offer. With the sheer amount of codes needed to be sent to all the available regions included in this offer, delay's
can happen when receiving the code in your Xbox message center. Also the codes are region specific so I can imagine there are a few steps to complete to send the correct code for your region and to everyone eligible for this offer.

Rest assured, you will receive your codes. Although the time when you get them varies on availability. This is why they extend the time to redeem these codes until Jan 29th, 2019.

I recommend downloading the Xbox app for mobile and set it up to receive notifications so you won't miss when the code gets delivered to your Xbox message center.

 

OK thank you for the reply. I will wait for a while longer to see if the codes come through. I have Xbox app on mobile and Windows 10 so will know the minute a notification comes through.

Whilst I appreciate there is a lot of work involved, from a customer perspective it is very frustrating to first of all receive nothing in the given time and then spend time with a CS representative who can't help. If the offer is taking longer than intended
an email or another form of communication could be circulated to everyone who paid for Game Pass in good faith, so as they know what is going on. It is not great customer service for customers to have to chase a company for something they have paid for.

As a gamer and Xbox customer myself, I understand where you are coming from completely and believe many people would benefit from a follow up email in regards to promotional codes to inform customers of the status.

The only thing I can suggest on this matter is to make a topic relating to this on
Xbox Ideas
and get the community to vote on your idea and spread the word. Any idea from the community that can potentially get implemented into Xbox Live would have to go through there first.
