No FPS metric in Xbox Game Bar (PC)

I've installed Game Bar, verified both windows and the game bar are up to date, added my user to performance log users through cmd, restarted and reinstalled game bar a million times, and I still don't have an fps metric under performance options, only
cpu gpu ram. Its not that I cant select the FPS metric, there is just no fps option at all.

that launched earlier this year and is a customizable, gaming overlay on Windows 10 that gives users access to various widgets for screen capture and sharing, seeing and chatting with Xbox friends from PC, Console, and/or mobile, and much more by simply hitting
Win+G.

The FPS Counter has been added to the Performance overlay that had already shown CPU, GPU, and RAM usage, and also gives users "more control over which system resources are tracked and displayed on-screen, and added graphical options so you can customize
the look and feel of the overlay (including transparency!)."

Sounds like the feature should be there.

Everything on the game bar works properly, but the performance overlay does not contain any option for FPS counter. It looks like this:

in the options panel there is no box to check for "FPS", only CPU GPU RAM. I have everything up to date.

Same problem. No friends list, no performance metrics. Tried reinstalling all the apps (except game bar because apparently that's impossible to uninstall).

No joy.

To use the FPS counter over your game, there are a few one-time steps you might need to take.

Important You’ll need Xbox Game Bar version
3.34.11002.0 or later to use the FPS counter.

Press Windows logo key + G to open Game Bar, then select Overlay menu > Performance.
Choose the FPS tab, then press Request access.
Follow the prompts, then restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

When you launch a game, the FPS counter will be ready and waiting in the Xbox Game Bar.
