    No download progress while Xbox is in rest mode


    Im in Preview Omega and ever since Ive started my downloads dont continue when my xbox is in rest mode. I've got the settings to that it's instant on. For some reason though every time I turn on my Xbox I am resigned in. Does that have anything to do with it? It's frustrating because when I'm downloading a few games I used to be able to just turn the xbox off, let them download for a little while, turn it on and at least some progress was made. That doesn't happen anymore. Now I need to have my xbox on constantly. Has anyone else experienced this or have a fix for it?

    Downloading games

    If your power setting is set to "Instant On", then the console will continue to download games while in rest mode.

    Did you turn it off by pushing the button or using the controller. I think the only way it downloads while off is if you put it into rest mode by using Kinect. Regardless, if I have something to download I just keep it on.

    So my xbox used to download while in a rest mode as well. Now i too have to leave it on 24\7 . As far as i know its non existent downloading on instant on now , all my friends say they now leave it on 24\7 too. Id like help as well .

    External HDD keeps turning on while in the rest mode.

    You have to select "Turn external Storage off" in power settings when in Always on mode, otherwise it will stay on as the OS checks for updates and game downloads etc.

    How much to download before we can play a game just got answered

    I would think it depends on the type of game you're downloading. For example,maybe FIFA won't need to download as much and lets you play one particular mode or the skill challenges while downloading the rest. Any games that have levels I guess would need
    you to download the first few levels or stages to give you some playing time.
