No download option for Xbox Video?

This seems like somewhat of a step backward from the Xbox 360, where Xbox Video let me Stream or Download a movie purchase.

Is this a holdover from the days the One was going to be always online?

No download option for a game.

As I said there has to be a more elegant way of getting to it, I believe it's been an issue for a while with funlabs not showing in the my games section.

I'm not sure, to be honest. It might be though. We used to be able to download music and keep it back in the old days when Xbox Music was known as Zune. And you could even download movies you purchased back then too. Nowadays, it's all about being connected
and streaming the content. I think you'll find most people, though, will find that ridiculous and who would rather have the option of streaming AND being able to download it if they so choose (since, you know, they purchased it). This can lead into a whole
discussion regarding ownership, licensing, purchase value, etc. It's a very complicated issue, to be sure.

I can download my Xbox Video content to my Xbox One. Streaming is an option, but it isn't the only option.

You can indeed download the videos captured by the xbox.

You have the option to upload them to the OneDrive and from there it easy to share, download or whatever else you need.

But using the xbox as a DVR is not really an option.

An option would be to download twitch on xbox, stream live to twitch, then upload those videos to youtube.

Legitimate digital copies (UltraViolet, iTunes, Amazon Instant Video) require a specific player. While downloads are possible to tablets and PCs for all three, I'm not aware of any streaming player that supports download to the local device. Even Xbox Video
apparently removed the download option from the Xbox One client (it's in the 360 version).

The only option I'm aware of is a small Home Theater PC hooked to a TV.
