Can’t get my Home Theater Dolby Atmos to work on once the Chat headset (mono open ear turtle beach headset for CHAT ONLY) plugged in. (Across all games)

Read carefully Before people tell me to download the Dolby app I have it already, atmos works amazingly with games…. I’ll get to the point my buddy and I couldn’t wait to play Halo on Network coop…

Dolby Atmos works Great in this game the minute I plug my mono open ear chat headset in the audio still plays through my speakers but turns off Dolby Atmos and brings to a 5.1 mix! Soon as you unplug it boom back to atmos. No setting I can find fixes it in the Xbox settings in fact the option that possibly allows you to change this is grayed out once the headset is plugged in.

My question to you does anyone know a work around????

Please recommend a XBOX Gaming HEADSET

Personally, I own and like the Plantronics RIG 400HX headset. It's a comparably cheap headset from a manufacturer that makes professional headsets for callcenter personnel, so their headsets are comfortable to wear for a long time.

There are two versions of the headset available, a cheaper version and a version with a code for Dolby Atmos for Headphones included, wich is approximately 10$ more expensive, but since the Dolby Atmos for Headphones costs 14$ in the official Dolby App,
you save a bit, if Dolby Atmos is something you want.

The headset is officially licensed for Xbox and works without any adapter. Just plug it into your controller, and it works.

The only thing to watch out for is, that the removable microphone boom has an unsymmetrical plug. So you can only plug it in one way. If you plug it in the "wrong" way, the plug will not properly seat into the headset's housing, and will not fully insert,
causing the mic to not work. In that case, simply twist the headset plug 180° around and insert it into the headset all the way.

Xbox One X Dolby Atmos problem

If you’re plugging stereo headsets into your controller or your console for the first time, your headset format defaults to
Stereo uncompressed. You can use spatial sound with any headset by using one of the following:

    Windows Sonic
    – This is the spatial sound setting Microsoft offers for an immersive headset experience. Plug any stereo headset into your controller or plug in an Xbox wireless accessory to your console before changing your headset setting to
    Windows Sonic for Headphones.

Dolby Atmos for Headphones – Dolby Atmos for Headphones is a premium headset audio format that works with all headsets. If you’d rather use Dolby Atmos for Headphones, choose this setting
under Headset audio. You can learn more about Dolby Atmos for Headphones in the app.

    To change headset audio settings:

    1. Press the Xbox button
to open the guide and select System > Settings.
    2. Select Display & sound > Audio output.
    3. Choose one of the headset audio options.

    Troubleshoot settings

In-game audio issues when using Dolby Atmos:

If you experience audio problems when you’re using Dolby Atmos, try turning it off:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide and select System >Settings.
    2. Select Display & sound, then from the headset audio options, select
      Stereo Uncompressed.
Frozen speaker settings after you disconnect a Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos headset:

In most cases, disconnecting or turning off a headset/device configured for spatial audio (Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos) will return the speakers to their previous audio settings. However, certain hardware—such as wireless headsets using an intelligent transceiver
plugged into USB—might still show the headset is connected even after it’s disconnected or turned off.

Unplug the headset or the headset component attached to the Xbox. This should immediately return the speakers to their previous configuration without changing the headset or speaker audio settings. Plugging the headset or the headset component back in should
restore the headset format you’ve chosen.

If you’re still having problems getting Dolby Atmos to work on Xbox One, check the headset/speakers manufacturer’s website for more info.

Can't use Dolby Atmos for Home Theater with headset base station connected (Elite 800X and Astro A50)

If you have tried that but still can't enable Dolby Atmos while you have everything plugged in, then just disconnect the optical cable but leave the USB plugged in, which is what charges the headset, not the optical cable.
The optical cable does not trigger the Xbox to see the base station...it's the USB cable that - when connected - prompts the Xbox to recognize the presence of the base station/headset and disables Atmos. So it's not possible to charge the headset and use
    Atmos.

The optical cable can stay plugged in at all times and does not effect the ability to enable Atmos.
