When trying to either watch TV or watch amazon prime on Xbox one I am left with a black screen. Audio works perfectly fine. This has happened overnight. Last 12 months had no problems and used both regularly. Done abtv settings reset this morning which worked
until this evening and its just gone again.

    :)

My first question would be what kind of TV do you have? If it is a standard definition TV, make sure the switch on the A/V cables is set for SD.

Another option is to reset your display settings for the console. The way you do it is these simple steps. 1) Remove any discs from the tray and turn off your system. 2) Turn the system back on using the XBOX guide button of the controller. 3) As the console
turns on, press and hold the 'Y' button while holding down the right trigger (RT). This will reset the display settings back to the original settings from the first time you started it. If that does not solve the problem, your console might need a repair.
I will refer you to this page.

At the bottom is where I pulled the solution from and if it does not work, you will need to submit a repair ticket for the system.

    Hi buddy,

Could be a faulty HDMI cable. Do you have another one you could try?

Most of the time with that it may be just the projector that isnt supporting those kind of HDMI cords but im going to try to help you just in case. So if you go to your Xbox settings go to Video Output and check to see if there is anything making it not
work like the setting quality could be too high, also make sure that you are plugging in the HDMI cord into the right side of the Xbox and if those dont work then try to contact Xbox Support to give you detailed versions of help to fix it this is the link

Hi Andreasagathocleous! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

First, power down your console fully and remove the power and network cables for at least 30 seconds. Plug the power cable back in and follow these steps:

Step 1: Hold down the Eject and Bind buttons on your console.

The Eject button is on the front of the original Xbox One console right next to the disk drive, while the Bind button is on the left side, directly adjacent to the disk drive, with a symbol that looks like “)))” on it. Note that on the Xbox One X and Xbox One S, both buttons are on the front of the console, with the Bind button sitting directly beneath the Xbox button on the right edge. The Xbox One S Digital doesn’t have an Eject button, so the Bind and Xbox buttons will do the trick. Once you are holding both buttons, press the Xbox (power) button on the front of the console.

Step 2: Release the Xbox button, but continue holding the Eject and Bind buttons for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two tones before releasing these buttons. The Xbox Startup Troubleshooter will appear shortly after.

Step 3: Select Reset This Xbox from the settings and proceed with the factory reset.

Is this happening if you try and put it on a different TV or just with this projector?

You may want to try these steps too if it is still happening if you change it to a different tv.

    1. If there's a disc in the Xbox One console, eject it.
    2. On the console, press and hold the Xbox button
 for 10 seconds to turn off the console.
    3. Press and hold the Xbox button
 and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You’ll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep.
Don’t let go until the second beep occurs.
Note If you have an Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, you’ll need to press and hold the
      Xbox button  and the
      Bind
button instead, as your console does not have an Eject button.
    4. In either case, this will boot your console in low resolution mode (640 × 480). To reset this setting, press the
Xbox button  to open the guide. Go to
      System > Settings > Display & sound >
Video output, and then select the resolution you want from the Display dropdown.
    5. If you’re required to complete these steps on every boot-up, you’ll want to change your TV connection to HDMI as shown in step 3 of the next section, "Your screen is blank and you use an AVR in your setup." For more info, see
