    No display/source output to TV

My son’s XBox 1 is not displaying video (or audio for that matter) to the TV, which was previously being used with no issues. As a PC gamer, i have limited experience troubleshooting consoles, but heres what ive tried thus far:

    checked cable connections

    confirmed correct input setting

    on/off restart

    hard restart

    switched HDMI cables

    switched TV

    low res boot

Im out of ideas at this point and assume its a hard drive or internal HDMI connection issue, but wanted to reach out in case im missing something onvious.

    thanks

    :)

As long as it's not an Xbox One S All Digital edition, you can try this (which you may have done and referenced as "low res boot"):

    1. Power down your Xbox One by holding the power button on the console for 20 seconds.
    2. Press and hold both the disc eject button and the power button at the same time for 20 seconds.
I had the same problem with my xbox one s and i did this to my xbox and factory reset but once i did i noticed that after about 5-6 minutes of use it would slow down and then everything would stop working the side menu when you hit the home button just greyed
out the screen when i would try to access it and the dashboard would crash after that. i tried to power cycle it again and now it has black screened yet again and i cannot get back into boot mode by holding the buttons. if you have any solutions please let
me know i have run out of ideas.

Its actually an X, and you are correct, that is what i meant by low res boot

Can I connect my Xbox series s to my MacBook Air m1 for me to play through the MacBook’s display? I don’t have another display at the moment

Unfortunately no. The video port on the Apple M1 (which is a display port) is only an output, not an input. It is there to output the laptop display to compatible monitor, it can not receive a video source. It won't work, not even with a DP to HDMI adaptor. This is pretty much standard practice for 99% of laptops.

You'll need either a TV or a monitor for your console.

xbox connect to laptop throught HDMi not working

    Hi there,

if you are trying to get the video/display from the Xbox console to show on your laptop (via HDMI cable), then that likely isn't possible as most laptops are not build to receive video signals from an external source. A laptop usually only outputs video signals to the display from the laptop itself or towards an external source like a TV or monitor
