    No Control of TV, Cable box


    I just got my new Xbox One, and I went through setup... and yes, it's connected according to instructions; including using the Microsoft provided cable from the cable box to Xbox. It recognized the Samsung TV immediately, saying "I know what your TV is and
    how to control it", but the TV doesn't respond to the Mute command..

    For the cable box, I have AT&T uverse with a cisco isb7500 box. I had to tell it what the devices are, then it seemed to be ok, except that the cable box did not respond to any of the power commands.

    The picture and audio work fine, but no control.

    Help with Cisco 9865HDC cable box!!

    My Xbox one will not control the Cisco 9865HDC cable box. I even bought IR blaster to set in front of cable box and it still will not control it. The xbox will control my tv and surround sound though.

    Which Canadian cable/satellite providers will be supported by the XBOX One guide?

    I was speaking to a Xbox rep at future shop over the weekend, he was saying OneGuide would be available at launch in canada. He said he was under the impression it wasnt either, but was told last week it would be...

    Considering Samsung smart TVs have personlized Tv guides that control cables boxes, and my Peel TV app on my phone has an intergrated guide that controls my cable box, i see no reason why xbox one can't do this out of the box. They only need the TV Guide
    from the cable providers. The control aspect is simply done by Kinect's IR blaster.

    I'm hoping it will be working out of the box. =/

    There are settings in the Xbox menu to control the TV, the cable box and a receiver. You can configure the Xbox to turn each of them on/off separately. Perhaps yours is not set to control those boxes and just the TV?

    The HDMI In is mainly where you connect your cable box if you want to watch TV through your Xbox. This would, with a few steps, allow you to control your cable box with your Xbox controller.

    What Feature Are You Looking Forward To Using First?

    The tv access will depend on your cable box to a degree. I would suspect the IR blaster to be compatible with most newer boxes. The other method of control is through HDMI-CEC if the cable box supports it.

    I forgot to add the most important thing is to get your cable box recognized by going to 1. settings 2.TV & oneguide 3. device control 4. Cable and satellite box 5. Search for your box or manually use satellite box remote control
