No Connection to Xbox Live / Error Code 80151904

Hey guys,

I hope someone can help me. I'm not able to connect to Xbox Live in backward compatible games. On regular Xbox One games everything is fine. When I try to connect to Live on the emulated 360 dashboard it shows error code 80151904. When I check my network
everthing is fine. The strange thing is that it seens to be a problm on this console as the problem appears on every account. On our second Xbox in the same household the problem doesn't appear, so it can't be a problem with my connection. Hard reset, deleting
and installing the games again and trying a few other standar methods didn't solve the problem. So what's wrong?

Backward Compatibility Troubleshooter? Be sure to give all those a go including re-downloading your profile within the Xbox 360 game.

thanks for your answer. Unfortunately I've tried everything listed on this page. None of it solved my problem. Seems I have the same problem as many others here.

Were you able to fill out the survey at the end of the troubleshooter?

 

Having the same or very similar problem. First the grey "Getting your Xbox 360 profile..." screen takes a few minutes to, well, I guess it just gives up. Then games like Banjo-Kazooie from Rare Replay want me to download a 360 profile, but that just doesn't
work. The "Checking network status" screen does nothing for quite some time and then it says

Can't Connect to Xbox Live. Select Test Connection... yadda yadda

and of course "Everything is good" once I test my connection.

It's the same for two accounts, network works, full factory reset didn't help, etc.

After investing 600+ EUR I'm expcecting more than games I can't play. :-/

I'm currently having this issue.

 

Is it happening with every account like the original poster or just one account?

Is it happening with every backwards compatible game?

When you load up the backwards compatible game does it immediately say disconnected from xbox live?

Has this always happened or did it just start happening?

There could be a couple things that are going one

1. Password is longer then 16 characters or you have 2 step verification turned on.

360 consoles including the emulator on the ONE does not like passwords longer then 16 characters so you would need to change your password to something less then 16 characters.

If you have 2 step verification turned on you would need to redownload your profile on the emulator with the app password and not your normal password. To redownload your profile on the emulator follow these steps:

1. Load any backwards compatible game.

2. Once loaded hit the View and Menu buttons (small little round buttons on either side of the big xbox button on the controller) this will bring up the xbox guide.

3. Click on download profile.

If getting an error when trying to download the profile again make sure your password is not more then 16 characters.

Or try and sign out of your account by hitting the Y button on the controller then downloading your profile.

This could help with other possible issues too like if you had changed your gamertag since the last time you downloaded your profile to that console then it would give you the same issue and would just have to redownload your profile.
