    No Chat Output from Toslink?

Can someone help me with my audio setup I can't see to get it to work correctly, Xbox support folks are completely clueless. When I'm in a party I can't hear other people talking but they can hear me fine.

My gear: Sennheiser PC350s, the Sennheiser PCV 05 CTIA adapter, Microsoft stereo adapter for controller, Yamaha AV receiver, Xbox one.

How it's hooked up: The Sennheiser PCV05 CTIA adapter is plugged into the controller and the PC350 microphone cable is plugged in, but the audio cable is not. It's plugged into the front of my Yamaha receiver. Xbox video is handled via HDMI to a PC monitor.
Optical audio is output from the Xbox One via a Toslink cable to the Yamaha receiver.

Xbone settings: HDMI audio: off. Optical audio: stereo. No other settings seem relevant

On the 360 you could output chat to both the headphones and the speakers - is this no longer an option or am I'm doing something completely dumb, I've tried every combination of settings I could think of.

    Thanks.

    :)

Headset not taking over when plugged in.

simply put, plugging in the headset to my controler SOMETIMES has no affect. The kinect system still has control of the imput, and chat is game chat is still output to my tv.

  3. How to use a microphone WITHOUT using a headset?!

You can go to Settings > Display and Sound > Party Chat Output and select your desired output.

Will the Xbox One have diffrent colors for the A/V?

It won't have an analog AV output at all, only HDMI and TosLink.

I'm also messing around with enhancing the console's audio output quality. console... TOSlink... DAC/amp... headphones. I agree with HammerfellChick. Go to the manufacturer's website. Good luck, eh.

Amplify puttin this game on easy mode

I thought that the adapters are chat adapters. Connecting TB's via Toslink will give you the audio on the Xbox One. Just no chat.
