    I've streamed games to my laptop (Acer Aspire V17 Nitro Black Edition) several times before without problem. This evening I was streaming happily when the stream abruptly disconnected after a minute or so of gameplay. My router has been fussy lately, so
    I swore at it, clicked the button in the xbox app in Windows to reconnect, and carried on where I left off. Except now I have no audio. There is no audio at all streaming to my Windows 10 laptop from the Xbox One - no game audio, nothing from the YouTube app,
    not even the little navigation bleeps and bloops you get as you flip through the dashboard.

    I'm kind of at a loss on how to troubleshoot this, because the xbox has so few menu options. I've turned everything off and on again 2 or 3 times. I've double checked that the laptop is set to output stereo audio and not surround sound. I've tested with
    the laptop's inbuilt speakers and a pair of headphones. And I'm pretty much out of ideas. Any suggestions?

    Windows 10 Streaming No Audio

    Hi,

    There are several reasons why you have no audio on Xbox App. It is possible that your settings are incorrect or you have a poor network connection. To properly isolate your concern, please clarify the following information:

    • Is there an audio when you are just watching videos from the Activity feed
      on Xbox App?
    • Do you have an audio if you use a headset?
    • Do you have an audio when recording a game?

    Xbox One AS a media server, not a streaming receiver

    The Xbox One isn't really designed to be a network media server. You can only stream from your Xbox to your Windows 10 PC using the Xbox App for Windows 10. However protected video and HDCP-protected content can't be streamed with game streaming. This includes
    protected HDMI television content as well as the content from many media applications.

    As others have stated, there is no way to record your audio while using the 'record from now' function.

    I stream to mixer and that captures my mics audio, and it's really easy to do too.

    The only other alternatives to a capture card is to stream directly from your console to Mixer or Twitch, or use the Xbox App on Windows 10 to stream your console's audio and video to the windows 10 device, then you can use some other software to record,
    or stream. ( I hope that made sense).

    There is no built in streaming to the Xbox 360 console. Using the Elgato or another capture card would be the easiest way to stream that content. I agree, the built in streaming for Xbox One and Windows 10 is pretty great and can spoil you, but it's
    not available for the Xbox 360.
