XBO S w/ Kinect Adapter won’t change volume

Just upgraded from Xbox One to Xbox One S. Now the Kinect (with new adapter for Xbox One S) can’t change the volume up/down or mute on my Logitech Z906 sound system. Worked fine before with Xbox One and Kinect.

Using optical audio cable. Tried every combination of HDMI Audio and Optical Audio settings. Kinect voice commands work for on/off, just not for controlling volume.

  4. No audio volume from my Xbox one

First, go to your Xbox One's settings and check if the audio settings are configured to anything but "off".

If you still aren't hearing anything, go to your TV's settings and check that the built-in speakers aren't disabled (assuming you want to use the TV's built-in speakers). Consult your TV documentation
    (pdf link).

    Headset Adapter Support (Live Chat)

I found I was having problems with the audio there was a sort of echo/reverb on the game audio. I found out if I turned the volume on the turtle beach headset 100% down and then just used the audio controls on the stereo adapter it fixed the issue.

The problem seems to be I was getting game audio from the TV into the head phones which was going via the volume control on the TB headset wire, and previously on the 360 just the chat was coming from the pad. With the new adapter on the Xbox One it pulls
the game audio and the chat audio via the pad, and I was also getting the game audio from the TV with a slight delay causing the distorted sound.

Basically turn the game volume on the wire control thing on the TB headset fully down and it sorts the distorted game audio.

The way the chat adapter volumes work is the 2 buttons on the left control the balance between game and chat audio, the middle is mute and the two on the right are master volume. This can be confusing as the two on the right used to be chat volume on the
adapter that came with the original Xbox One headset/mic thing.

Hope that helps in some way.

Xbox One S audio output volume control

    Hi ZoltánBalázs2,

That is still not possible because volume control is only specific to the audio output device (speakers). You control volume only through the TV or any external audio device with speakers. The only exception to this would be volume control for headsets that
don't have the volume control built in. In this case if you plug in a headset to the Xbox One controller via the 3.5mm jack, then volume is controlled by a slider found in the Xbox Accessories app when looking at the controller's settings.

In conclusion, the Xbox One console is not responsible for the volume of the audio output as that is handled by the audio output device itself. The Xbox One just processes the audio formats to whatever you have set it to in the Audio output settings and
then the audio travels to your audio output device, which is what has the volume control. Therefore, as far as volume control goes, the Xbox One Media Remote is only able to control the volume on your TV that you have set up with your Xbox One under the TV
& OneGuide settings and then in "Device Control".

As mentioned previously, please refer back to that support article on what the remote is used for.

    Headset Adapter Support (Live Chat)

In fact the other option is to use the volume control on the wire then hold down the bottom left volume control until it beeps (thats the one with the player and the + sign) that will turn the balance from the pad so its 100% chat audio and no game audio,
then use the volume control on the TB wire to control game audio.

Not sure which will give better audio quality for in game audio or if theres any diff.

    really annoying problem with headphones..

no no, im using my akg headphones but instead of plugging them into the tv headphones socket (as you would normally) im plugging them into the xbox audio adapter (one of these >

    www.amazon.co.uk/.../ref=sr_1_2
). my problem is i cant find a way to increase the volume as there is no physical volume control from the xbox to my headphones. i think my only solution is to use a stereo lead from the adapter into like a hi-fi or interface
which i can use to control the volume?
