    no audio through xbox headset


    Hi I have two controllers and two headsets all of which used to work. I now have a crossed out audio symbol and when I go in to the settings for the controller the volume tab is greyed out.

    I have extensively googled and have an open NAT on the router, I have preformed resets including the factory reset and nothing works.

    Very frustrating - please help!

    the newer 3.5mm controller

    The chat headset is designed to only give you chat audio, and leave game audio coming through your television.

    Any other headset will give you both game and chat audio through the headset, whether you use the new controller or the older version with the headset adapter.

    Sorry to hear about the audio issue! Is your headset plugged into the optical audio port on the Xbox One console or in our Stereo Headset Adapter through the controller?

    The Xbox 360 controller does not support game audio to be played through the controller's audio port.

    The audio port is only built for headset voice chat.

    The Xbox One headset is used for voice audio only. You shouldn't be getting any game audio through it. If you are referring to a third party headset please contact the manufacturers customer support.
