No audio through headphones on Xbox One S

I have three controllers (which are all up-to-date) connected to an Xbox One S. They all work fine in terms of gameplay, but I cannot get any audio to come through any headphones that I plug into any of them. I have searched through all the settings, but
have come up short with finding a resolution. My problem is simply that no headphones are detected. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Xbox One S Controller 3.5mm Headphone Jack, No sound whatsoever

So i recently bought an Xbox One S, and for the life of me, I can't get any sound to come out of the One S controller through the headphone jack. I've tried all the settings in audio, devices, the controller itself and the volume controls which show up in
the settings tab when you plug a headset into the controllers headphone jack. I've heard that you can get chat and game sound through it, but I can't even hear myself through the mic monitoring slider or in an Xbox Live party. I bought a chat headset today
and the Xbox picks up on the mic so that works (Also tried with my computer's headphone port and it works), but no sound is outputted through the headphone port, not even with just standard stereo headphones with no mic. Any suggestions?

 

Cant get game audio on xbox one

I have my xbox one hooked up to an HP Pavilion 25bw which has no speakers or headphone jack and my old turtle beaches dont work on the xbox one. So i have no way of getting game audio. So i was wondering whats the easiest way to get game audio, i dont care
if its through headphones or speakers. What do i have to do to get game audio?

Thanks. Appreciate the link, though I already visited that page and it does not help my situation as it appears that the headphones I have tried are
CTIA standard. After further discussion with my sons, it turns that headphones did work up until about 5-6 months ago on all the controllers. Which makes me wonder was there an update that 'broke'
this functionality?

So if you did have them work at one point and they stopped, I would go ahead and give the steps on our either of support pages entitled

Give those articles a shot and see if that helps you out with the problem

If it doesn't, then I'd try a soft factory reset of your console next.

It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts and have easy access to your internet network so that everything goes
smoothly.
