No audio through external speakers

So recently I'm not getting any audio from my Xbox through my external speakers. My speakers have a 1/8 inch jack and are plugged in the headphones port of my FireTV. It worked absolutely fine a few days ago, until I unplugged my speakers to listen to music on my computer. I've done the audio test, and it works fine through the TV's built in speakers, but I get nothing when I plug in my external speakers. I've unplugged the HDMI cable, unplugged the power cable, and tried updating but still nothing. I don't understand what could be the problem.

Any suggestions?

To clarify:

You have a new laptop with built-in speakers

You have a set of external speakers which are plugged into the laptop

The audio won't play through the external speakers and is only being played through the laptop speakers

Hello Deski21, try to check if there are any updates for Fire TV, or any settings that may have changed when you removed the speakers, it doesn't seem to be something on the console.

I don't believe it's the input, because apps like Prime and Netflix work perfectly fine through the speakers. I'll have to do more digging with Amazon. I appreciate the suggestions you folks have given me.
