No audio/sound after system update

I had not played my console in a while... last time was several months back (GTA 4). It worked fine. Today I went to play Arkum City and was prompted for a system update. After it updated there is no sound. I tried clearing the cache, and needed to install
a couple of more system updates, but still no audio. Connecting to audio receiver. The sound for the TV works. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I have no Sound after recent update 12/19/13

I have no sound after this update. Already cleared cache and checked audio output.

Make sure the sound is not muted and the volume is turned up on your TV.

Make sure the
console audio settings are correct for your combination of TV and cables.

Update your console software.

Hello! Here is a small checklist of things you can try to get the audio working again. If you’re using a separate sound system, make sure the system and speakers are on. Make sure all cable connections are securely connected.

Make sure that the console settings are correct for your TV and A/V cable.

Did you receive an error code or status code when you had the problem? If so, please provide it.

I played mine a couple days ago with no problems. Today after installing a console update, I have no sound. Video is fine. TV audio is fine, just nothing from the xbox. I haven't moved or unplugged anything. I tried the ol' turn it off and on again. I've
been through console settings>audio and toggled each option. I have not received any error code, just no audio. Someone help! I really need to sail to New York to clear out the Assassins' hideouts...

Hi, FattedCat09. It's usually best to create your own thread so you get the best help possible. However. try going to Settings/System/Console Settings and disable Display Discovery. Do you then get audio ?

Miss Portia....the same error happened to me today. I updated XBOX live and lost audio through the HDMI connection. My XBOX is connected directly to my TV and the digital audio was previously being passed through successfully from my TV to my digital sound
system. After the update I lost the pass through ability. Now the sound works only if I use the TV speakers and not my audio system. Please help. Thx!

PS...I forgot to mention my XBOX is connected to the TV via HDMI and the TV is connected top the audio system via HDMI.....

I understand that you are experiencing issues with the sounds of your game Fortnite.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please check Fortnite Audio Settings. Open Fortnite and go to Settings > Audio.

Make srue all volume settings (Master Volume, Music, Sound Effects, etc.) are turned up. Verify that the correct audio output device is selected.

And then disable sound visualization. In Fortnite's audio settings, disable the "Sound Visualization" option, as it can sometimes interfere with audio output.

Next is to update Xbox firmware. Kindly make sure that your Xbox Series S is running the latest system update. Go to Settings > System > Updates to check for updates.

Then check audio output settings. On your Xbox, go to Settings > General > Volume & Audio Output.Please ensure that the correct audio format is selected for your headset or speakers.

If the issue persist after performing the troubleshooting steps, kindly uninstall and reinstall Fortnite to delete the corrupted files from the game.
