No Audio over HDMI to my laptop

Hi, I don't have a TV, I have a laptop with both HDMI in and output. I have played call of duty before, running my xbox to my laptop via HDMI and there was video and audio and it was great. But I'm trying to play halo 5 and I get perfect video but 0 audio
at all.



I have tried:

Hard rebooting twice

My volume is in fact up high and my speakers are in fact on

My HDMI is certainly plugged in

My HDMI audio is set to uncompressed stereo, not off.

I don't understand. Would be fantastic if somebody could help so I could play some Halo. Thanks.

No Audio when playing DVD and using HDMI cable to connect console to TV

i was just trying for the first time to play dvd through the xbox360 after a year using the same tv and hdmi cable.. (2 hdmi ports on tv, bought 2 thicker hdmi cables, individual connection for console and satellite box)..

as for the dvd playback with no audio, setting the xbox360 display discovery to "enable" now fix the audio.

had different problem with the laptop running win7 (using hdmi cable from satellite box to the tv). first time ever time audio transfer well to the tv and the laptop automatically muted.. then after that had to fiddle with the laptop setting every time,
had to disable the laptop speaker device before the tv takes over.

was never a problem with the tv or hdmi cables. was working well playing games, watching satellite tv or using the setup with different tvs..

 

No Audio Over HDMI

I just bought a used Xbox 360 from Gamestop's Blast From The Past Bundle to use as a spare 360 and because my main Xbox 360 is one of the original pre-HDMI Xbox 360's and I figured using HDMI would be a little more convenient than using the HD Component
cables. However, while the component cables work just fine with both video and audio for the most part, when I use the HDMI cable only, there's no audio output whatsoever. I've tried different HDMI cables, I've tried different displays including plugging the
Xbox 360 into my Xbox One's HDMI In port and using the TV app but there's still no sound. I've also tried changing the audio output to different formats but none of them make a difference either.

 

If this effects HALO 5 only. Do you maybe have to delete all HALO 5 user settings/reset to default. Some saves user settings for some games get corrupted. It's most likely not to happen, but it can. It have happened to me before whit another game.
