Hello, I just my Xbox one on Jan 9th. I haven't played it more the an

hour. So I start playing last with Sony gold headset plugged in the

3.5mm jack. The sound is working great then it cuts out. I was in the

menus at the time (don't think I did anything). I tried unplugging it

then replug nothing. I check if the mic is working, its working normal. I

can still hear the quite static/buzz in the headphones like they are

muted. So I try it on an older xbox one controller I got used and it's

working normal. So I guess there are 2 questions. First how do I get

sound on this controller again. Second is my controller just broken?

    Hopefully that makes sense.

    :)

    Hello Araktar,

First, congratulations on the new Xbox. I'm sure you will have lots of fun. As far as your question "is my controller just broken?", I don't think so. This just might be a matter of the Mic being turned off in the menu. I'm not sure if this is true for Sony
headsets, but when the headset is plugged into the controller, the Xbox should automatically recognize it. You will know that this has happen because the settings for the headset will be right there at the >
Settings menu directly from the Home page (kind of cool isn't it). Double check that the
Headset mic Off/On is set to On. Let us know if you continue to have a problem with your headset and controller.

    Hey there Araktar.

If you're not having trouble with an older controller it sounds like the issue you're having is on the side of the new controller. Do you have a different headset you can test to see if there's any change?

    Audio in/out

You can certainly try a toslink splitter they are readily available from various places around the internet. Xbox one & 360 into the splitter and then splitter out to your headset receiver. That should give you sound from both sources at the same time. What
the quality will be like though is a question I'm unable to answer.

If you're not particularly looking to hear sound from both sources at the same time then like the splitter, toslink switches are readily available from lots of places.

Good luck, hope you find what you're looking for.

Audio is fadeing in and out.

Hey OP, the repair set up online costs around $99, and it includes a new warranty when the console returns.

Have you tried a different HDMI cable? It sounds like a different cable would help, so please let us know if you're able to try a different HDMI cable. :)
