No A button on controller

Recently on starting up my xbox one, i was asked to sign in, which is unusal, then a screen came up to configure my controller, I accidentally just fumbled something and now Im having great difficultly getting into my game because the A button does not work.
Ive tried a hard boot and unplug but still has this problem. I have two controllers and its the same with both. Now heres something weird, i need both controllers to be able to power off, i have to switch between them because if A does not work , it sometime
will work on the other. This system i use with the two controllers SOMETIMES will actually get me into my game! Which is Battlefield one. If i get in my A button works perfectly.

Is it possible i was hacked?

what other reasons could there be?

Its driving me NUTS!

I like the idea of the Nintendo NX, but after seeing the leak of the controller............no.

a controller needs buttons, I cant stand virtual buttons on my phone and I don't want them on my game controller.

 

Controller no longer powers on console

Pressing the xbox button on my controller no longer causes the console to power on. After powering up the console by directly pressing its xbox button/icon the controller sync up and otherwise works flawlessly.

Hard resetting the console makes no difference. Resyncing using the controller's connect button makes no difference. How else might I make the controller correctly power on the console again?

Firstly can you please try and
re pair your controllerto the console to see if this helps at all. After this you could try restoring your

console to factory defaults and this will hopefully fix the issue you are having.

 

Here's something else to check out as well. CoPilot may have been turned on, which lets you use two controllers as one. Make sure its turned off! Follow steps here: Copilot on Xbox One | Link Two Xbox One Controllers

Hi thanksfor responding, Ive tried but just cant get anywhere right now, anytime I go to settings I then need the A button to get in and it wont work. Cheers
