Ninja Gaiden Z - Anyone Got it?

Game arrived today and it's good fun.

It's a fun "Ninja Gaiden" spin off that doesn't take itself too seriously and isn't afraid to poke fun at what the series had become.

Looks pretty and there's tons of blood in a style that's somewhere between Anime and "Borderlands 2".

There's a good variety of moves, both attacking and finishing and the game manages to be funny with some genuine laugh out loud moments.

It's early doors but good fun so far. If you see it cheap, check it out for a bit of fresh meat.

I guess my know-how in this genre is (as always) pretty weak. One thing I will say, if this is at all on topic, 3x3 eyes is the BEST manga out there. No exceptions

I wish they would make a game on that one.

Azrael: It is my understanding that the manga is way ahead of the anime and, when they do meet up, anime puts out filler episodes to stay behind the manga on purpose.

You could also sign up for Crunchyroll - not sure if they have the Shippuden manga but they do have the anime, and in simulcast, too! You could catch up to events there.

Oh, and it's legal.

 

I'm a Ninja Gaiden fan through and through so I was quite stoked for Yaiba when it was announced. That said, once I found out that the game has a fixed / static camera I immediately decided to pass on it. I can't stand action
games that withhold camera control from the player (the exception to this being Castlevania: Lords of Shadow).

 

I'm fully up to speed on Naruto and waiting for the latest Volume 66 to be released in July now.

If they get Crunchyroll on the ONE I'd have that in a heartbeat because they've got Naruto and heaps more.

As for the camera on "Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z" it works fine. You might want to check out some gameplay videos and see how the static camera works with the game rather than simply write it off because you don't like the idea.

 

Normally I don't go off reviews but considering who actually made Yaiba and the fact it barely gets above a 3 from most reviews I feel comfortable giving this game a pass.

 

If you loved the "Ninja Gaiden" series for the high level challenge then I can't promise this delivers the same level of intensity and precision on the highest difficulty and I honestly suspect that it doesn't.

But it's a fun game to play that's only being marked down for the game that it isn't, rather than being scored fairly for the game that it is.

 

Some reviews do that to you. I'm victim to it myself but I tend to turn away from most reviewers now and use you guys as my IGN if you like its more accurate and honest lol.
