Ninja Gaiden Yaiba

I'm with the wait and see crowd. Although Razor's Edge and DOA5 redeemed Team Ninja for NG3, the fact still remains that they made NG3 and thus will not be getting my money until I hear that they made this one up to snuff the first time.

 

Losing Itagaki pretty much killed Tecmo in my mind, but I've heard surprisingly good things about the remix of NG3.

Law212, I'm glad you chimed in about it.

I'm still more interested in Devil's Third than anything over at Tecmo. NG1 & 2 are tied as my favorite games of all time. I'm hoping Itagaki and his Team Ninja ronin can come up with the same type of success that Respawn had after the Infinity Ward fallout.

No, it hasn't been on any platform yet.

 

As Digi pointed out it's not a NG game but it's tied into NG's universe as Ryu kicked Yaiba's backside and left him armless and now he's after revenge for said buttkicking.

It's not strictly a Team Ninja game either, it's being developed primarily by Spark Unlimited with TN/Yosuke Hayashi overseeing the combat and Comcept/Keiji Inafune directing and doing character designs.

It's using the Unreal engine too which isn't the best for fast paced hackers if things like Killer is Dead and DMC are anything to go by. Mixed bag really. Oh and the Z is for Zombies.

 

Where have I heard about this before then?

I'm sure I saw an article reviewing it on something like the Wii or 3DS in metro.co.uk's gaming section.

 

Getting it. The weird zombie/cyborg thing has me as interested in the weird new art style.

 

The first Ng reboot was awesome though because of the free hurricane packs and the tournament they did. I've never seen any other developer do that with their game.

Any NG players remember that tournament?

 

Yep, the Hurricane Packs were sweet. Shame they removed Intercept when they repacked the HP's into NGB.
