    Ninja Gaiden AND Ninja Gaiden Black


    I just bought the Ninja Gaiden Series on a whim and decided to start the first one over again.

    I have Ninja Gaiden for the original Xbox, was able to play it for the last 6 years no problem but now when I insert the disk it says "Game cannot load. Contact xbox.com/support for more information."

    Well, I did that and followed all their steps(deleting game data, clearing cache, checking for updates, redownloading profile) to no avail. So I said screw it and decided to download Ninja Gaiden Black from the marketplace. There was a message on the side
    of the game saying THIS HAS BEEN TESTED FOR COMPATIBILITY ON XBOX360. So I can't lose right? Wrong!! When I try to run the game right off my harddrive I get the exact same error. So I've wasted $10 and a couple hours trying to play the first Ninja Gaiden,

    Did microsoft just decide *** ninja gaiden?

    What is the hardest game(s) that you've beaten?

    This is the one of the few games that made me want to throw my controller though the T.V.! Lol. Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden Black, and Ninja Gaiden two are AWESOME games!

    Sorry to hear it. Has anything changed about your console recently? A new hard drive perhaps? If you purchased a new drive where did you purchase it from? Backwards compatibility titles are only available to use with official Xbox drives.

    hmm I did buy a new harddrive, maybe that could be it. I swore I played the game since I got the HD though, I will disconnect it and try the game then report back.

    Where did you get the drive from? Sites like Ebay and Amazon are known for selling 3rd party drives that have "official" stickers on them. 3rd party drives do not have the necessary firmware to play backwards compatible games.

    I did buy it from Amazon indeed, there's no microsoft markings so I assume it is indeed third party, I was looking for my old 5GB HD but I lost that. At least my brother has the game for Playstation 3 sigh

    At least the plot in the games isn't really connected so I can start with Ninja Gaiden 2. Thanks for your help. Much better than Microsoft support
