  1. Ninja Gaiden 2 Advice?

I think I am going mad, I am seriously considering buying Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2!

To anyone that has played both Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

Is Sigma 2 as good as NG2?

Is the screen tearing bad, or is it the same as NG2?

Does the digital version of Sigma 2 run ok?

Any and all information will be gratefully received.

    Should I buy it?

    :)

    Games you miss

Ninja Gaiden 2, Ninja Gaiden 3 RE and Mass effect, and Darksiders.

    Ninja Gaiden

"Ninja Gaiden 2" is an excellent game.

"Ninja Gaiden: 3" is better than some people give it credit for but hardcore "Ninja Gaiden 2" players did not like it.

Tecmo then released "Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge" which expands the movesets, adds weapons and lets you play as Ayane and Momiji.

If you get a copy of "Ninja Gaiden 3" make sure it's "Razor's Edge".

I have not played sigma, but going off conversations with Shigurui it's terrible and doesn't match up to NG2 at all. Avoid at all costs.

Well Shigurui might comment that it's worth a play, but going off what he said the changes just sounded awful and I wouldn't want to touch it personally.

In a word no, too much was taken out and the extra things do nothing to add to the game with the exception of online co-op missions.

Is the screen tearing bad, or is it the same as NG2?

NG2 has screen tearing? (JK) Apart from one or two spots in CH6 I can't say it was ever an issue for me, likewise with NGS2.

Does the digital version of Sigma 2 run ok?

No idea, mine is a disc copy but it does make a partial install of about 3 gig of data iirc, never had issues with its performance.

If you just want to play NGS2 for fun on Acolyte or Warrior then go for it, it's still a
damn good decent Ok I guess Hack/Slash regardless of the changes made.

    Shigurui's covered most of it.

I'll just add that I'm personally thankful to have played Ninja Gaiden Σ2 as it's where I really learned the system inside out. To clarify, because the game has less enemies rushing you it allowed me to experiment with weapons /
moves without having to worry too much about getting interrupted. At the Master Ninja difficulty setting, Σ2 forced me to really learn enemy behavior (both the regular foes and the bosses) because the damage output was just insane (prior to a patch one grab
    was enough to KO Hayabusa).

Once I beat Σ2 on Master Ninja I went back to Ninja Gaiden II on Xbox 360 and found everything much, much easier thanks to the training I got.

The mission modes on both are super fun. The Xbox 360 version does have more but the fun part about Σ2 is that you can co-op with a buddy. I can't tell you how many hours I spent just playing with randoms or playing with a buddy
trying to beat Ultimate Ninja 1 and 2.

Another "pro" for Σ2 (though most purists will say this is a "con") is that you get to use Rachel, Momiji, and Ayane in levels dedicated to them. Initially people dismissed these characters as completely inferior to Hayabusa but
they do have their own charm.

  7. ^I've heard that Rachel is the BEST character ever to come out of NG, hahaha.

  8. Ninja Gaiden 2 Advice?

Thanks chaps, I am still undecided.

I got to the very end of NG2 on normal then got RRoD (one of many) and never had the stomache to restart it, so now I want to finish it, but on PS3 instead, just got to decide if I can cope with the stress, lol.

Is Sigma 2 much easier than NG2?

You know what I would really love is if Team Ninja could somehow retroactively add Kasumi to Ninja Gaiden Σ2 Ninja Gaiden 2 Advice? :) I like her play style and move set in Razor's Edge and with NG2 / NGΣ2's combat system I think she would be awesome.

    [/quote]

At the Acolyte, Warrior, and Mentor difficulty settings the answer is a resounding yes. On Master Ninja NG2 still comes out as being much tougher but Σ2 can be fairly challenging due to the damage that the enemies deal (as previously
mentioned one grab attack by a boss or large character can pretty much kill you in one go).

  11. ^I will completely agree with you on that my friend! (about Kasumi)

Wilko just man up and play the real version on one of your kids 360's =p seriously though if you want to play it through on the PS then just go for it! It must be pretty cheap by now so what do you have to lose, other then your sanity?

  12. Sanity? What's that?

I'll probably get it, it's £15.99 on PSN.

Kasumi was my DOA character, it would be nice to play her in a NG game...

^Then get on Razors Edge pronto and you won't be disappointed playing her in that!

Yeah you can't really go wrong for that price, if you do end up playing it, post your thoughts.

  15. I am not a huge NG fan, but I am enough of a fan not to touch NG3.

@Digital, my thoughts will probably be censored by the forums, lol.
