It's time to bring sexy back, 10 years later.

Technology has evolved, but the workout competition still is inadequate compared to the original with the original Kinect feedback. With better optical tracking, data science, and lessons learned, it is very possible to realize the goal of truly personalized calisthenics, tied into diet, personal fitness trackers, and a phone app for actual gym resistance training tracking.

I'm talking about a true fitness app. A gateway app that leads to a virtuous cycle.

Something your physician and nutritionist would want to tap into...and use themselves.

I hear you with the Oculus, but in a vigorous fitness environment, it becomes an impediment. Also, it does nothing for analyzing your body position and analysis of your ability to complete a rep. It would be fine for making you feel like you were on a mountain top, I suppose, but that's secondary consideration.

The most enthusiastic users of Kinect were people working in academic and industrial settings were using it as a cheap depth camera. It’s technology continues in a myriad of devices, Windows hello uses connect technology to log you into your computer, there are contactless baby monitors that use the connect technology, Samsung and Comcast I’ve been using it for years for their tracking remotes and voice recognition. Hololens is a direct descendent

And of course the Amazon echo that people use every single day was built by many of the exact same people that made Kinect, and is a good example of its original intent

If you want a Kinect style experience, I recommend you a standalone VR headset like oculus, that’s where all those applications are going.

Perhaps not adopted as fully as originally desired, but certainly the best way to gather position data in a 3D space.

A marketing opportunity...for the truly hardcore. Seems to work for peloton et Al.

Visual feedback, including infrared, paired with data science and AI would be the full picture when combined with a worn device.

kinect is obsolete and is no longer supported hardware, basically they have ditched it and that is why the new consoles do not support it at all. it will never return so pointless creating an app that would need it too.

I've given it some time, and I'm back to working out with Nike+ on the XBox360.

This Nike+ pattern seems to be a good match in general, and a good fit for a reboot. I like Alex, but from a marketing point-of-view, I could see Nike+ going to a more current bench for a new version for XBox One.

This product is a good one, folks. Don't let it go because it doesn't fit the sexy-marketed-video paradigm; it is superior because it doesn't descend to a mere video replay. It watches. It adjusts. It gives that critical feedback that keeps you coming
back. And with the latest Kinect, so much more is possible.

Sorry, P90 and folks. You fall short. You and your developers need to seriously bring your A-game here.
