NFL App not working

I downloaded the new NFL App and I can't watch any preseason games. Every time I click on a game it says "Sorry, we're having trouble playing the video right now". I paid for a game pass, and logged in using the activation code in the app. When I try to
add my TV provider the activation code box is blank. Everything else about the App seems to work but no games work live or on replay. If I do it on my laptop it works fine, only doesn't work on Xbox. Anyone have the same problem and know how to fix it? I contacted
both NFL and Xbox support and they couldn't help.

NFL app not working!

I have the same issue as traktroy360. I have contacted support with nfl network and they told me they have done everything on their end and Microsoft/Xbox need to fix the app. so an update from Microsoft to fix this issue would be nice!

 

Were you trying to play an actual game using the NFL App?

 

No, I was trying to watch a preseason NFL game. The NFL app is meant to allow you to watch games if you've purchased Game Pass through NFL.com. I did that, and can stream the service on my laptop but when I try to use the app on my Xbox One it gives me the
error I mentioned in my original post. If you check the comments for the app in the Xbox Marketplace there's a ton of people having the same problem, and no one seems to have a solution. The Game Pass is $100 and a big reason I got it was to be able to watch
it on my TV which is what this app is supposed to do.

 

Try deleting the app, hard resetting your console and then re-installing. Sometimes that might trigger it.

If that doesn't work, it's an account issue with NFL.com and you would need to contact them.

 

Thanks. I tried that, didn't help still showing the same error. When I contacted NFL they directed me to Microsoft. They said issues with the App would be through Microsoft, the NFL's product (Game Pass) is working since I tried it on my laptop and didn't
have a problem. It's only not working when I try to do it through the Xbox app. I spoke with Xbox customer service and they had me delete and reset both the app and my profile and nothing changed. The rep from Xbox customer service directed me here after that.
It doesn't seem like I'm the only one having the issue based on the comments on the app in the marketplace but I haven't found a solution yet.

Colin2410, I'm also having the same problem but I think I know what the solution is. I think you have to go to NFL.com and click on the 3 dots that appear in the menu bar across the top. This will drop down additional menu items, one of which will say
"Ways To Watch". Click on that then select "NFL Network". This will take you to a list of supported providers. Click on the provider to log in. Unfortunately, my TV provider is not supported so I could not log myself in to test this. But I suspect that
if you re-launch the app and you're logged in with your NFL.com account then the NFL Network will stream on the app. Hope this works for you.

 

Try to uninstall and reinstall

 

When I try to open the app this is the message I receive. not sure if anyone else is having this issue.

 

I am also seeing that "thank you, watch for updates" message. I figured it would resolve once the actual season started (this week) - I was assuming everyone else was seeing this message to. Was the app working for anyone during the preseason?

 

Same issue. Without this I can't watch my Sunday Ticket on my TV. NFL tech support refers me to Microsoft, Microsoft refers me to Direct TV, Direct TV refers me to NFL.

Very frustrating.

This worked for me. I made sure that my app was up to date. Then under settings I had to use the activation code for both my gamepass account and also the provider one to get access to nfl network, which happened to be directv. Once I did this and went back
to view the full game, it worked. I just wish I could see the condensed version on the xbox sooner. Sometimes I can't be up that late on a Sunday night.
