Next Level up from Gold

Hey, everyone! As we all know, or probably all know, there currently exist two versions of the Xbox Live experience. These include Silver membership and Gold membership. I was thinking of a 3rd version above Gold membership, we can call it Platinum, Diamond,
or anything else it doesn't matter. My question to you is what should a "Platinum" membership include? My first thoughts include a built in subscription to Netflix's streaming service, games, movie rentals, DLC, and early access for any number of thing. What
combination of these things and/or others would be appropriate and for what price would it be reasonable to charge for said benefits. Thanks for reading!

Yep, the lowest level is free. The next level up would be a gold membership which you'd need to pay for and that would allow your second son to play games online. At the moment with the free account he can only play single player games.

Paid or unpaid accounts seem to bring enough issues.

No need to bring yet another class of players into the mix. All the "benefits" you mentioned already exist.

No need for the Poor, the rich, and super rich--- Real Life already covers that area with mixed results.

Maybe a Lifetime membership could be an option.... One Million dollars gets you a lifetime of free service and games... -___-

 

How does having paid and unpaid accounts bring up issues? Not saying you are wrong but you didn't give any evidence as to what you are talking about. If you could have another grade of Xbox live account that offers you things like Netflix as a combined package
for a lower price than the two individual subscriptions then why not? What would be your issue with the existence of such an offer?

 

Well, Netflix is already an option... for all accounts...

For Example--- Silver members abuse free trials to get free games without paying. Not saying thats a bad thing but then you go online and see all the free code generators and scams that get people banned.

Think of it like racism (for example) All thoes silver members are low class no good system abusers- Said the Gold Member.....

Then The Platinum/ Diamond member pay for a lifetime of free use.... (for example)

I paid my dues I want it all--- Gold members should just stay away or pay more if they want what we have --Said the Diamond member... Pull yourself out of the gutter and get a Platinum membership you poor gold member...

At first YES it seems like a decent idea!!!

Microsoft is not a bunch of dummies... If they thought more money could be made they would do it.

Options are availible for a reason. I maybe totaly wrong and look forward to other opinions.. If this was a viable solution MS would have already done it though.

Meh , not interested in all that other non gaming stuff on my xbox , so I'll remain a standard gold member thanks.

 

I also read that EA are gonna start up a game rental service on Xbox One , so no need for a platinum sub , just sub EA twenty quid a year and your good to go .

 

@BongKaos Netflix is only available to those who pay for a separate Netflix account. I am not saying take away the ability of silver and gold members (who have a Netflix accounts) to use their Xboxes for Netflix, I am saying roll in a Netflix subscription
with the Xbox Live subscription for 3rd level Xbox Live users. As for your racism comparison…. this makes no sense.. sorry, but I don’t understand what you are trying to explain. Customers pay for a service, and then receive that service. How on Earth would
I, being a Diamond member, be able to tell you, being a Gold member, to “stay away”? What are you talking about? Either you have access to matchmaking or you do not. I would also like to point out that just because something makes business sense does not mean
Microsoft will do it or be involved in it. If you want an example just looks at last year’s launch of the Xbox ONE. It was… subpar and left many fans and potential customers underwhelmed. It would have made Microsoft more money to have a more effective console
launch but they did not so they are not perfect… Just to be clear I want Gold to stay EXACTLY the same as it is now while having another level of Live service that offers bundles and vouchers for games/movies/what not at a combined discounted price as opposed
to paying full price for all of these separate services.
