Next Gen w/ Classics?

I'm just wondering, Will Xbox One ever offer Classic Xbox game titles? example: To be able to buy crash bandicoot/simpsons hit and run etc from the store on the console? I've been trying to do some research but can't seem to find anything unfortunately.

Yeah, I guess Im just a bit burnt on the single player stuff, because thats all we had back in the day and Ive had my fill with it. MP is the Next Gen gaming. Maybe make it like W@W and have Co-Op campaigns, I think 4 different players could do it at once,
thats a bit better I guess. Zombs is gonna be epic Next Gen too!

Although I can't say no by fact, it is highly unlikely. During launch there was a lot of people (and still are) that were a little mad that the Xbox One doesn't play Xbox 360 games. Albiet some developers have remade / revamped some good 360 games to play
on the Xbox One but I think this is as compatible as it will get for the foreseeable future. With that into account, I doubt they will do this for classix Xbox games but only time can tell. I will say that until you hear an official announcement, take everything
else as heresay, speculation or rumour.

 

If PS Now is succesful you can bet your granny that MS will follow suit. Will PS Now be succesful? Unlikely at current prices. It will be cheaper just to buy an old 360.

P.S. Crash Bandicoot is made by Naughty Dog so its very unlikely that it will ever appear on Xbox

Yeah its activision that hold the rights to crash bandicoot, so it can/did appear on xbox

 

If I'm honest, I'd struggle to recall the last time I needed backwards compatibility. Maybe for Halo 2 when the old live service was closing.

It's one of those features that people really make a lot of noise over, but very rarely actually use.

It's more likely that you'll see some sort of web streaming solution using Azure, provided they see any success with PS Now.

 

I use it quite a bit, it's a nice feature to have. Playing Project Zero 2 right now on xbox as a matter of face. I hate seeing old games just become forgotten because it's hard to find a way to play them or the graphics are 'too old'.

 

It seems rather unlikely however maybe sometime down the line maybe a few 360 games will appear.

 

A lot of Classic Xbox games you can actually get on PC or if you're that fussed, just rake out the old Xbox? Maybe if you're lucky it'll be remastered in HD... Come on where's my Knights of the Old Republic HD? I NEED IT!

 

I doubt it would be 'classics'... with previous last-gen games making the transition as re-touched for Xbox One... Metro Redux, Tomb Raider, GTA V, Halo games and more all full price titles. You could just see a load of last-gen games with better lighting
and better frame rates rather than classics. It all depends on what titles the publishers want to put out there, but it's so early in X1 life-span to have classic titles yet for the game store when another huge focus is the id@Xbox indies all coming out in
trickles.

 

they might start to do it to build the XBLA library as arcade games ... but more likely itll be HD remasters like whats happening with Resident Evil , havent played crash b in ages !
