Next gamertag purge?

Hey i was just wondering when the next gamertag purge will be, a gamertag i’ve been trying to get recently is owned by a account thats been inactive for what seems like around the 360 days.

There will not be any more mass releases. As of August 30, 2019, if a person doesn't use their Microsoft account within 2 years, the account will be closed which should free up the tag.

GTs are released after 5 years of inactivity starting from 2016 when the rule came into play.

Could you not use the name under the new gamertag system? Only difference is there will be suffix with numbers to differentiate the accounts.

At this stage thats the only option until the next purge and even then there is no guarantee that gamertag will be released.

Microsoft no longer announce the dates of when gamertags will be available.

They simply release them when they have been inactive for 5 or 7 years
