Newest update (11 December) not downloading -Status Code: 42FE-0000-3080-0506-8007-2EE2

Hi,

I have two Xbox 360's both are exhibiting the exact same issue.

1/ Prompted for a new update last night (this is not the update from last week).

2/ Updates starts on both and gets as far as about 1-2% on the green bar and just sits there for 10-15 minutes.

3/ Update Failed message pops up with:

Status Code

42FE-0000-3080-0506-8007-2EE2

4/ I am on both wired and wireless connections (1 on each console)

5/ I am in New Zealand, my ISP provider is Spark.

6/ I have tried clearing the hard drive cache etc that is suggested on the support site.

7/ I have changed DNS settings as well to no avail.

8/ I am a network administrator BTW, so I know a little about networking and firewalls. Ports are all open etc. Have rebooted and made sure UPNP was set.

9/ I do have an Xbox One on the network, but it is not currently switched on.

10/ Never had an issue with a system update before, including last weeks.

11/ Cannot try USB fix as latest update is not available.

8007 - 2EE2

I've done several procedures and the error
still continues.

I see numerous of issues with error code 8007-2ee2 (ERROR_INTERNET_TIMEOUT) trying to process the latest update, and are a customer with Spark.

I would say this has something to do with your service provider.

Can you Contact your ISP and have them know about your situation, and if they can sort things out. It seems that your problem is on your ISP's end.

I'll do one better and grab one of my consoles and bring it to work and see if it will update here, different ISP and on fibre here. Will let you know.

 

Before you go ahead, could you try delete the system update, installed on your console, and install the update once again.

Turn off your console. Press and hold the sync button (the small one you use to connect your wireless controllers). While holding press the power button to turn your console on. Continue to hold the sync button until the console is completely booted up.

Go to System Settings and select Storage.

On your controller, press the following button sequence:

Press the left bumper.

Press the right bumper.

Press the X button.

Press the left bumper.

Press the right bumper.

Press the X button.

Restart your console and try update.

Let us know how that goes.

 

Deleting the system update resulted in the download getting to half way and then stopping.

I will take one of the machines back to work with me.

 

Have taken machine to work, using a different ISP (Inspire Net), this worked perfectly.

Anybody else with this issue I suggest you look at you internet provider.

So does the console work with your ISP provider at home once you've uploaded the update using your ISP provider at work?

Working fine with my ISP provider at home now. Just the update didnt work at home.

I am having same issue I tried downloading with different connection no luck the usb update also not working it give error white extracting

 

Can you just fix the problem? Every time I have to update, I have to do it one or two times. sometimes it takes a couple of hours to update at most a day. WHY? Others (friends online) say the same thing happens to them???
