    Newest Alpha Build Removes In Game Audio on Xbox One


    I have an original Xbox One and had an Alpha update that essentially removed all audio except party audio. I tested on 3 controllers and two different headsets. A pair of earbuds that I usually use every day and gaming headphones. All had the same outcome. About 3 to 4 seconds of game or dashboard audio until it cut out. In order to fix this, I reverted back to the Beta build and did a factory reset, which fixed all the problems.



    EDIT: I should note, that in-game audio can still be heard through a monitor or television. Just not through the controllers.

    I just looked and I am getting this issue. Funny thing is that I never got these problems when I was in the Alpha. I am currently on 19042.450 (20H2) - so not even the newest build that is being reported here.

    I don't think the TV should matter - it's the connection between the external device and the Xbox. I also don't think you need to factory reset your Xbox - I won't say that you can't do it, but if it will inconvenience you I wouldn't.

    However, I think we should try the Insider app method. Seeing if taking your console out of the Alpha Build and back into the general build or honestly different one may be a good method to try. The two Xbox's I have are on the Standard build (No insider) and a different build (internal) and both worked, neither are on Alpha.

    If this fixes the issue, please let me know and I can communicate with appropriate teams about this issue on the Alpha Build.
