    Newbies to XBox can't access download from child's account


    We recently bought an XBox One for our son's birthday. My husband and I are not video game people. We set up the system with a new microscoft account with our info. We downloaded the included game and extra bundle (Minecraft). My husband then realize that
    there is a child account option. So we set one up for our son. We don't want him to be able to get online and to access just anything. Anyways, now when my son logs in, he can't access his game. It says we have to be the one logged in. Help!

    Star Wars Battlefront Live Play Access

    When trying to access Star Wars Battlefront multi-player play from my child's account, there is a request to sign into EA sports which we do, but then the following error comes up: "You are not allowed to access online features." I can access through the
    parent XBOX login and the child's account settings are set to allow for online play. Is there another setting (either in XBOX privacy settings or the Microsoft settings) that I may be missing to allow for the child's account to access online Star Wars Battlefront

    Hey there!

    Thanks for posting! Once a game has been redeemed on an Xbox Live/Microsoft account, it cannot be moved to another profile. An alternate solution you have is leaving that main account signed that owns the game's while your son's account is signed-in so he
    can play those games.

    Additionally, while signed into the main account that downloaded the game's, you can set your Xbox One console as the 'Home' console, which will allow the games that the 'Home' console account to be playable by all other accounts signed into the Xbox One.

    You can't access the link if you are a child account, since you will need an adult account from the family group to change the settings on your behalf!

    I can not down load any thing rated "M"

    Child accounts can't purchase/download rated content above their age (T for under 13, M for under 18), or unrated (Indie) games from the marketplace. They just can't and there is no way to turn this off on a child account. You'll have to use an adult account
    to download the content or wait till you can promote your account to an adult account.

    Hi there,

    If you purchased the content on the parent account, then the DLC can only be accessed by the adult account. The only way the child account could access the DLC content is if both accounts are on the same Xbox and that the parent account has the Xbox set
    as the Home console. This will allow digital content owned or purchased from the parent account to be shared with the child account or other accounts on the same Xbox. The parent account will also need to allow access to this content for the child account
    due to the age rating of GTA 5.

    Allowing content restricted for child accounts can be done from
    https://account.microsoft.com/family/     or on the Xbox One when the child tries to access this content.
