Newbie Needing Help Please

Got my neighbours Xbox One to look at as it wasn't turning on

1. tried power supply on other machine and no joy so sent it away for either repair or replacement

2. power supply arrived today and still doesn't power up Xbox One

3. plug the cable from plug into power supply get a solid orange light plug into xbox it goes off nothing

4 do the spike reset and plug the power cable into power supply then into xbox and then turn on the socket and low and behold NOTHING

5 what am I doing wrong please someone tell me ??????

Newbie needing advice

Hi - just signed up to xbox live and have created accounts for both my kids. They have downloaded Minecraft full version and want to play as two player which they do at their dad's however they are unable to play two player at mine, they've added each other
as friends but cant ask eachother to join. Any suggestions as to where i'm going wrong? Thanks

When you say "turn on the socket," are you referring to a power strip/surge protector? I can tell you that the Xbox One cannot be plugged into a power strip and needs to be plugged directly into the wall. The reason is, the power brick for the xbox already
has a built-in surge protector, and plugging into another surge protector actually chokes the supply of power to the system. This can not only cause problems initially, but causes the system to work harder during startup, and can ultimately lead to components
failing.

no its just a standard double sockect with no surge protection !!!

Is it digital or a disc?

Did you hit the home button (big illuminated button on the center of your controller) and then highlight the game and “quit” it?

Also, if it still doesn’t work power cycle your console by holding the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it turns off. Turn it on and try again.

If none of that works uninstall the game and reinstall it.
