    New Xbox Wireless Adapater - Win 8.1


    Hi, I just bought the new xbox wireless adapter to connect my pc to the controller. However, I am on Win 8.1 OS. At the time of purchase I did not realize that it was only supported for Win 10, as I could not find the older model on sale in New Zealand.

    Do I need to return the adapter or can I wait for a driver update for 8.1 support.

    I have this exact same issue, I'd rather not buy another OS either just to get this to work. I thought it was also just a smaller version of the wireless adapter but I'm not sure why it seems to have no windows 8.1 support. If someone could help us that

    Win 10 only but you should be able to run win 10 if your running 8.1

    Just to confirm, are you referring to the Xbox wireless adapter on your PC?

    If so, please remove the wireless adapater first. Then search on Start "Device Manager" and open it. Plug in your wireless adapater and it should update the list on the Device manager. Uninstall the newly added driver. Once uninstalled, restart your PC then check if the wireless adapter will start to work when plugged in.
