    New xbox upgrade help

    Hello.

We have the original xbox one which is my home box. With external hard drive.

I've bought a new xbox one x for Christmas which I have signed in on with my profile .

It's currently updating, but we have bought new games for Christmas too.

If I install them onto the new xbox on my profile, will they been seen on my home (current xbox that the kids have access to) xbox?

Want to try and avoid the need to install games and perform updates on Christmas day

    Thanks

    :)

    Great Question,

They wont automatically start installing but they will appear in Ready to Install next to Games (Digital) If it is a Disc you wont see them until you put the Actual disc into the Xbox (Disc)

    Thank,

Once bought, games, apps, and subs are always connected to the account that bought them. No matter which console or disc. Where you log in, everything follows. of course, you need to download the games and apps. Welcome to the X world. Great machine! And
if you try to play the game from disc, it must be inserted in the machine you are playing on.

The new games are on discs. So am I right in saying I should be ok to install them on the new xbox, and if I don't insert the disc on the old (home) xbox, they won't show up as ready to install?

Physical games on disc will only work and install on the console you installed the disc on.

So if you only insert the disc into your new console, they do NOT show up on the old console.

If you do NOT want the games on the old console (if the new One X is the christmas present), you're done. Just make sure you turn on the console one day before christmas and check for updates, just to be sure.

Also, if not already done so, make sure that your kids have their own accounts, and do not use your own adult account for your kids!

If you DO want the games on the old console to be ready for christmas, you will have to manually install the games on the old console (or use the network transfer to copy the games to the old console through your home network). Or you could install the disc
games on the external hard drive, and on christmas eve, simply plug the hard drive in the console you wish to play the games, and insert the disc as "proof of purchase", and the console will run the game without needing to wait for installation, or updates
(if the game was already updated on your new console).

Thank you very much for this! I've made sure the games we have are installed onto our external hard drive, as I know it can plug and play into the rnw xbox. (I've just tried a game of cod on the new one and it makes such a big difference!)

I'll aim to get the kids games installed before Christmas day.

Tha k you for your help.
