New Xbox Term of Use for Xbox Live and loss of Gamertag

Hi there,

I've a question about the latest Xbox Term of Use.

Specifically the line that Reads "Xbox now requires you to sing-in at least every 5 years to keep your gamertag".

I'd like to know if Logging into Xbox Live can be done only through the Console, or by simply logging into the Xbox.com website; like the required login to post here.

My concern is about losing my Gamertag, due to the current sonsole market standings, and my current gaming habits. I'm personally still around to see what's new and what's being changed, but I don't foresee any Xbox One console in my future.

Maybe the next generation. If Microsoft doesn't completely switch to PC.

So, in the evenience that they survive this generation, AND release and awesome Xbox next time around, I'd like to know what I require to do to keep my beloved gamertag.

If the answer is that I must log onto my Xbox 360, guess I'll have to dust it off once a year just to plug my ID.

Second place doesn't nessarily means tha they will pull out what you choose for your console is upto you that's your choice there is a lot of players that do play xbox one that's the beauty of choice I'd be more worried about Nintendo which is losing money
where Sony and xbox both make moneybalthough Sony is more in danger with their entertainment division costing billions (which includes ps and TV's)

You can go pc you do realize that right you just sign into your pc windows 8 and above voila.you.are active.

Personal choice is personal choice.noone makes that for you

Xbox has plenty of cash not.tommention better ezclusives

 

If you sign in on Xbox.com, the xbox app on Windows 10, or the Xbox smartglass app that will count as signing into your account and preserve your GT.

Still against that new obligation, considering that many people would like to keep memento of their lost ones, and if Xbox purges inactive Gamertags, sooner or later there'll be some angered by having lost a small, but nonetheless precious memory, of dead
friends, lovers and relatives.

I feel it being an idiotic choice.

Expecially so if paired with hard cash required to change your Gamertag to a freashly freed one.

Current lacking state of the Xbox One is only the fault of the team that first released it, and all of those that couldn't understand how badly it could be going.

Turning the trademark into a custom controllers/custom Gamertag factory won't solve anything at all.

Moreover when the custom Gamertag is taken away from the account of a dead gamer and its unbeknowst relatives.
