New Xbox setup

Yep, just transfer it over to your external hdd and transfer it back onto the xb1 s, it's what I did when I went from a normal 500gb xb1 to my elite.

The only thing is the game saves, they are on the cloud. When you go on to the new console you will find that your game saves will have to download whenever you start a game for the first time on your new console. It isn't a long process but it's something
to be aware of, I kept forgetting about it so I'd go to play an old game that I hadn't played for a while and find that I had to re-download my save, it's a small irritation.

You won't need anything like the xb360 transfer add on.

When you get your Xbox One S console, you'll be able to add your Xbox Live account to your new console. Once you do that, all your settings will transfer and you will be able to re-download all games and apps from the "Ready to Install" list in the "My Games
& Apps" section. However, any games you own on disc will need to be reinstalled

@The Monk - If you have everything installed to an external hard drive, you will be able to connect it to your new Xbox One S and be good to go.

I have essentially the same question - I'm also getting a One S and don't want to have to reinstall all of my games and their (often sizable) updates and DLC. My external hard drive is large enough to move everything over to there; can I just do this and
then connect the drive to the new Xbox? It seems like that should work, but I went through a few Xbox 360 HD transfers and the requisite adapters and license transfers.

if you are talking about a Xbox One then using the same account on the second console as you do on the first console should result in the same games being downloaded from Xbox Live (as long as the console is connected to Xbox Live)

If you are on a Xbox 360, then besides using the same account on both, you will also need to copy/move the save games to a USB device to use it on both consoles or Move the save games to the Cloud (this will require a Gold subscription)

This is worse then making a second account for when you have a temp ban. Which is not allowed. If you get console banned and your gt gets permently banned Xbox dosnt really want you on there severs. Making a new account dosnt really change the fact you
have been banned. If Xbox find out your back on the severs they will ban agian. Everyone agrees to the Code of Conduct when they sign up. If you break it well you have to pay the price.
