New Xbox Series X/S core controller connection problems to pc. Please Help!

As a gift, I got the brand new Xbox core controller. When I got it home I tried plugging it in and it wouldn't connect to the computer. I thought maybe it was a problem with the chord. So I bought one made for the new controller and it just came
in and it still doesn't work. I then updated Windows. I updated literally everything you can on windows and it still wouldn't connect. I even tried the Xbox accessories app for an update and it says, "connect an Xbox Wireless Controller to get started." At
this point, I thought the controller was broken so I brought it downstairs to my brother's Xbox One. It connected easily and said there was an update for the controller. I finally had hope. When the update was done I ran upstairs and plugged it into my computer.
Still won't connect. Is this a common issue and where should I go from here? I've tried everything. And this controller is supposed to be useable for PC i checked the box.

I have solved the issue with this problem with the help of amazon support. They are amazing. If you're having this problem 1) Go into your device manager on your Windows computer 2) Go to Universal Serial Bus controllers dropdown (USB controllers) 3) Right-click
root hub 4) Click Properties 5) Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck the box that says "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." If this helped let me know cause it helped me.

The Series S and X controllers work on same devices the earlier controller can connect to. This includes:

Xbox One Game receiver for Windows 10

Bluetooth (PC, Android, iOS)

Xbox One, One S, X and Series X/S.

standard xbox one controllers have been replaced with the series s/x controllers that work with all xbox one consoles and the new series s and x and even pc. they are readily in stock all over the uk, try argos.

The Series X|S and Xbox One controllers are not compatible with the old Wireless Gaming Receiver used to connect Xbox 360 wireless controllers to a PC device. However, they do support connection to a PC via Bluetooth.

I can't see why not. After all, the Series X and S console support Xbox One controllers. That shows the way these new controllers connect hasn't changed. They should work on PC with the Wireless Adaptor.
