New Xbox One X ... Warranty already 2 months in!!!

I thought they do track the consoles via sales? Which would be why they used authorized re-sellers. I could be wrong, since I've bought my recent consoles online, but I believe that they scan/track a serial number and report the unit was sold. I'm going
to ask someone who might know and I'll report back; or if anyone already here has more information, feel free to chime in with evidence of me being wrong (it's happened before, it'll happen again; I can handle it.)

The page shows the warranty from when the console left the factory. If the console was sitting in the store for two months, that's the difference it shows, since Microsoft can't know when the console was sold.

However, if you contact the support and provide a proof of purchase (e.g. receipt) with the purchase date on it, the warranty will start from that purchase date.

I would suggest you make contact with Xbox Support via the webpage as they will be able to see why you were only given 10 month warranty. Usually I believe it is a 12
month warranty but warranties can differ from country to country.

Hey there! I had this exact same problem when I bought my Xbox. Just contact microsoft support at the below link, type "speak with an agent" once you're in the chat. Let them know what's going on, and they'll asl you to upload a photo of your receipt with
the purchase date and will have it adjusted for you. All the best, cheers!

I have just purchased a new Xbox One X (was delivered yesterday (30/12/2019) and have registered it today.

But according to my Microsoft account, the Warranty ends on the 01/11/2020 ?!? ... thats only 10 months; surely thats not correct!

Yes, I just noticed the same thing! I purchased it at Walmart and bought the 3 year extended warranty, but cutting the original warranty by two months is not right.
