New Xbox One X Kinect Adapter

I have heard rumours that Microsoft may be releasing a new Kinect or Kinect adapter in 2018, does anyone know if this is true or not.

I went on to xbox chat to ask them whether this is true or not but they didn't really confirm yes or no.

I have my Kinect from my Xbox one just sitting there and I would like to use it again as would many other people.

Current price of an adapter is around £120 mark, a total rip. Considering what the price was a year ago. I suppose supply and demand has something to do with that. Especially if Microsoft is no longer manufacturing them.

Is it worth forking out £120 for an adapter or is it worth holding out to see if they are going to release a new adapter.

Indeed you just need an adapter. But the adapter is not available anymore. So in reality the Kinect is not working on a brand new Xbox One X.

As for a new kinect adapter or kinect sensor, I doubt they are going to put more money into building a new device that's not directly part of the Xbox console.

 

it depends if they get the back in stock. the adapters have been sold out for a while now. way before the holiday season. Now they are selling them on Amazon and ebay for £120, Or around that figure. I am half tempted to buy it. so I can use my Kinect again,
but it seems very expensive considering they used to retail at £40.

Microsoft discontinues Xbox One Kinect adapter

I have just purchased one for £119 including postage. The price of these adapters will sky rocket even further. May I suggest People buy one Now for the £120 mark where they can find them or else that it, or pay even sillier prices for it.

 

I just read that they will not be making anyore Kinect adapters. I have a Kinect for the original Xbox one and I am thinking about getting the X but maybe not anymore if I can't use my Kincet. My only option is to buy one on eBay for $300+ which is a total
rip off! I am beyond mad that Microsoft would screw over their customers like this. I use my Kincet for voice commands during shows/movies and auto sign in. What happened to the Xbox being an "all in ONE" entertainment device?

 

Microsoft screwed me over. I bought the xbox one s during black friday, for the sole reason to play Just Dance. I only needed to save money to buy a kinect and the games after that. Now I have a console which I can only play Forza
on. I am extremely mad. I cannot return the product since I have opened it and played the game that I bought with it. I don;t even like Forza, I just wanted to play Just Dance but I cant seem to get the Kinect Adapter anywhere. I searched online and its above
100 euros for me (imported from the US, so they might not even be compatible as we have different power sockets in The Netherlands).

 

I'd go 1 step further and say that customers have been deliberately misled by MS on this;

At the bottom of the page it does have a brief exception for accessories stating: 'Xbox Kinect Adapter (sold separately) required for Kinect on Xbox One S and Xbox One X.'

But 'sold separately' isn't very helpful if they no longer actually sell them - and haven't been in stock since before Christmas... I haven't been able to get my hands on one since I got my One X, and my Kinect is now useless.

I was just about to buy a Xbox One X to replace my Xbox one with Kinect. But if I cannot connect the Kinect to it, it's useless to me. I'm quite disappointed in Microsoft to be honest.

 

Why? I will just buy a used second XBO for less than half the adapter's price to ensure that I can continue to do what I want with the device should my launch unit fail, and I just will not buy an Xbox One X until they resolve the situation (if ever). I
was only holding out on the One X because Gamestop oversold the Scorpio Edition I was supposed to have and I was trying to find it elsewhere. Now I just won't get one at all. I have a PS4 Pro and a PC. I'll survive.

 

just want to say if you got the skills and go to youtube there are video's on there, showing you how you can make up an adapter yourself. If I had seen this video's before I would have followed them rather than spend £119
for the adapter. The parts are readily available.
