I just bought this console a few hours ago and I have noticed a strange buzzing noise. It isn't a constant buzz, it starts and stops every half a second. I have searched the forums for possible answers on this but havn't come accross anything helpful. I'm
just wondering wether this is normal or that my Xbox One is faulty.

    :)

    very disapointed

I had my new xbox one without Kinect for one day, an I just finished wrapping it back up in its box an sending it back hopefully tomorrow, "over the last few weeks to complain of a loud buzzing or clicking noise when the console is running. The
majority of the complaints appear to be from customers who purchased the
Xbox One without a Kinect motion sensor
. One user, who posted about the issue in August, called it a "terrible noise,"
adding that it "sounds like an old printer and lots of static."

That is exactly what was wrong with mine, very annoying!

The system shouldn't be buzzing when it's active. That being said make sure it's not something environmental like an un level surface or something silly like that. I have mine sitting on a wooden chest and sometimes when the disc drive spins up I get a slight
buzz out of it but only for a few moments while it gets to speed. If the problem persists I would take the hardware back to the retailer for replacement before the return policy is no longer valid. Alternatively you can start a repair with Microsoft at:
