    New Xbox One S: NO POWER


    So my wife got me an brand new Xbox One S for my birthday. I believe she bought it towards the end of march and I only got it last Wednesday (8 April). I have been playing it since then probably for a few hours a day at most i.e. not over using it.

    On Saturday (4th day of using it) the power kept cutting out mid way through a game. It went completely dead, no warnings or anything. It would turn back on and then after another few minutes cut the power again. I have it where it is not surrounded by anything
    so ventilation shouldn't be an issue. I have been mostly playing Forza Horizon 4 on it; I don't know if that would help.

    Anyway I have gone to play it today (6th day of using it) and it just wont turn on at all. I have followed the trouble shooting; left it unplugged from the power for more than 10 seconds, changed the wall outlet it has been using (working fine with other
    devices) and made sure it is plugged in correctly at the wall and console. No joy with any of these fixes.

    Can't seem to get through to any Microsoft support, probably because it is Easter. I didn't expect having this sort of issue only having the Xbox for less than a week. Not sure what to do really; any advice would be appreciated.

    If it is the original Xbox One with the separate power supply (brick) then you will need to purchase a new power supply, If you own an Xbox One S or Xbox One X then you will just need to purchase a new power cable.

    It can be 3 things going on:

    1. The power outlet

    2. The Xbox One S cable is damaged

    3. The Xbox One S power supply is burnt

    Verify if you still have waranty and get a new one...

    You never stated which model of Xbox One it is. If it is an Xbox One, you will need a new power brick to use it on the USA power. If you have the Xbox One S or X, then you just need a new power cable for the USA power, and it should work fine.

    The Xbox One S does not require a power supply, or power brick, the power supply for the Xbox One S is on the inside. It seems like what you need is just a new cord. Am I right or did I misunderstand?

    It's an Xbox One S and the cable is blowing? S has an internal power supply and uses a standard figure 8 generic cable. You mean original Xbox a one?

    If it's the S it will have to be sent in for repair, the one you would need to get a new power supply for on the aftermarket
