New Xbox One S Fan Noise

Hello,

Just purchased a new Xbox One S and set the system up over the weekend. I noticed a constant noise that sounds like an old hard drive writing, like a very faint, split second buzz. It seems to be happening constantly, about once every second or two. When
I place my hand on top of the console I can't feel any vibration when the noise occurs. The noise happens when playing games, streaming, and when just sitting in the home screen.

Everything I've done so far indicates the console is working as intended and not overheating. I currently have it located horizontally on top of my TV stand in a well ventilated area.

I am not sure if this is normal, or acceptable amount of noise and am concerned it could turn into a failed unit in the future. The noise is only noticeable when streaming a quiet movie or during a quiet cut scene, but with the machine being brand new I
don't like it.

If you can confirm this noise is normal I will relocate the xbox to behind the TV which should make the noise harder to hear. If not, I will bring the unit back and exchange for another new one - only concern here is I have read about many problems that
sound worse than mine.

My second Xbox one s and the noise is doing my head in it's a loud fan and buzzing is this just me or is this meant to be making this noise

Ok I moved it and it has not shut off sense but the Xbox One X Fan noise is not constant and is still loud maybe not as loud as a jet engine like I describe before but still loud way louder than my Xbox One S and OG Xbox One, it would have a fan burst
when I'm playing which is loud and annoying and the fan noise would never be at a constant noise level while I'm playing a game.

Thanks for your post. I understand you are experiencing an issue with your new Xbox One S producing mechanical while in use. Occasionally, you may hear the hard drive in your Xbox spinning up to load content or boot up. If the sound is constant and obnoxious,
your console may need to be serviced. For service options, check out our

I did chat with support and was told basically if I can live with the noise then its normal, which I was a little concerned to hear. Was advised if there is a loud grinding noise then at that point it would need service.

I thought the hard drives were solid state in these, which would mean loading should be silent, is that not true?
