New xbox one s ethernet issue

Hi,

I'vejyst bought a brand new xbox one s 1tb console to replace my day one edition and when i connect my ethernet cable it say I'm not connected. My ethernet cable works fine in everything else, old xbox one included! I've tried factory resetting the console,
hard resetting it also, I've factory reset my router, entered dns manually. Nothing seems to work. It connects by wire for a few seconds at a time then disconnects straight away and just continuously does this. Someone help! It's brand new for christ sakes.

Ethernet cord Xbox one S

i have a big problem: i alays play with my normal Xbox by Ethernet cord. I changed it with the new xbox one S but it has a problem with Ethernet cord; it doesn't recognize it and for this reason Xbox support suggested me to change it cause some consoles
had this problem with the Ethernet port. I tried to verify if, by pic with the same cord, it works, and it was good!so I changed my S and the new one has the same problem. Is it possible that i bought another console with ethernet port broken?!

youtube app bug?

My xbox one is hard wired via an ethernet cable and I'm still having the same issues , my 360 though runs the youtube app flawlessly so I don't think it's my connection.

Hey Adam!

Can you maybe post a close-up pic of the ethernet port on the Xbox Console? If you have already determined everything else is good, then that is the last thing. Moisture, dust, damage (hopefully not!), or some type of foreign substance getting into that
port could cause connectivity problems. There is also the possibility of defect, it does happen every now and then :/

Had a similar issue. My ethernet cable worked/still works on my original One but not the S or X. The solution was to buy a cat 6 ethernet cable.

Seemed like a delay when switching to Xbox 360 titles to correct series S ones that's was the issue sadly and come hiccup between ethernet and wifi ,

When you first get your Xbox One S, there might be an issue with Updating it Wirelessly. It will say "Update has Failed, Please Check your connection and try Again." if that Message pops up, all you have to do is Turn off the Console, Connect an
Ethernet Cable to the xbox and your Router, then restart the process for updating your new Console and it will start without any issues. there are sometimes Wireless Connection issues that will interfere with the Updating process, It's better just to connect
the Ethernet cable First hand.

Found an ethernet cable and hooked up an entire other tv so it could reach the router reset and retried with ethernet and still not working

Perform a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
