New Xbox One S drops network connection when in Instant On mode

wow I end up here cause I have the same issue. wireless or wired I get random disconnects its very frustrating, I switch to Energy saving mode we'll see how it goes. Microsoft please fix it.

 

Same issue here, I am ok on my original xbox One but my son on his xbox one s has constant xbox live connection issues, even when changing to power saving mode rather than instant on, i am still having to switch off and pull the plug for 10 seconds before
it starts working again.

 

Came to add to the pile of people with issues on their one s. This is getting ridiculous, fix it already.

 

Have the same exact issue here with One S. The Xbox One upstairs doesn't have this issue. If I can't figure out a way to resolve this in the next few days, going to return this console back to Amazon and wait for Xbox One X. Very disappointed.

 

I have an Xbox One S. This started happening to me last week. Now every time I turn on the Xbox I have to hard restart it to get a network connection. Totally sucks. Please fix this Microsoft.

 

Sadly i'm having the same issue. I have to hard restart daily.

 

I have Two Xbox's at home (X1S, OG) and can confirm this happens on both. In my bell home hub 3000's modem log, it shows exactly what Kandsmerlin said which is constant disconnects/reconnects every 3-6 seconds for both Port 1 (OG)
and Port 3 (X1S)of my modem.

Can also confirm that it stops while in Energy Saving Mode, however this is not good for me as I am in the Preview program and I would rather the updates happen over night. I also don't like waiting for the boot.

Can also confirm that this is the root cause of many Bell customers' midnight modem freezing issues, which is making many bell customers have to reset modems every morning ( it should be noted that this problem was originally blamed on an internal backup battery
of the home hub 3000, I do NOT have the battery installed as advised by my technician when it was installed earlier this week, so that's not the issue) 4/5 reports of this show these clients have an XBOX.

Basically every midnight the modem does an Update and when you have 2 xbox reconnecting every 0 to 3 seconds it freezes. No other devices in my home do this. Please Fix

yea, I just got an xbox 1 s & having the same issue. Apparantly, it's been over a year & they still haven't fixed it. Seriously, what a joke this is.

 

I'm on the latest beta preview update with new home screen etc and still having this pathetic issue. A year it's been a problem for now utterly ridiculous. When in instant on my amber light goes off a short time after but green light continues to stay on
(blinking). Turning on via app not working at all and remote downloads not working properly either. I must have given 7 or 8 accounts of feedback on insider hub regarding issue

 

I thought i was loosing it with my XBOX 1S, ORBI router and Comcast 100MB. I have zero issue with original XB1 but the S drops continually. I will try the cold start vs. instant to see if this helps. But, based on the 7 pages of comments on the same thing,
there must be a problem.

 

I have this same issue. It seems like the first step of powering on my Xbox One S is to go to settings and choose Restart because there is no Network Connectivity. I have tried actually going into networking and reconnecting to the wireless network by
chosing my SSID & reentering my password (tedious, btw) however ten minutes later it will drop again. If I fully restart the Xbox One S however, I do not experience the problem until the next time it's been in standby for some period of time. Even long periods
of inactivity before it auto-off's does not cause it to drop the connection.

My connection is wireless, 5G to an Netgear R8000. Signal strength is fine, ports are forwarded, and the Xbox One S has a dedicated, static IP address from the DHCP server.

 

Same issue. Google Fiber, Gigabit, wired connection. Have put poor Google through the ringer because of network problems. New CAT5e, new router. I'll switch to slow startup and try to enroll in the preview but I'm very disappointed this is an Xbox S problem
and not something with my network. I have dropped out of MANY one-time events in Destiny 2. Rocket League bans me for 10-15 minutes every time I get disconnected. SUBSCRIBED.

 

Im also having this problem using instant on, and as someone who has extremely bad internet in my area its frustrating to turn on my xbox only to see that i'll have to wait several hours to play since my games all have to update. I'm
extremely annoyed and disappointed after having upgraded recently from my xbox one which i never had any problems with in the 2 years ive had it.
