New Xbox One S - controller won't connect

My new console just arrived, and I connected it to the TV. It seemed fine, showed me a pic of the controller on the screen, lights on etc. So I tried to connect the controller, pressed the little button on the front of the console and held down the little
button on the controller. The controller's light flashed faster, the console's stayed the same (not sure if it's meant to change or not but stating it anyway), but it didn't connect.

How can I get it working?

Controller won't sync

My xbox one s controller that I bought a few days ago won't connect to my xbox, it can connect fine wirelessly to my PC or phone but not to my xbox one. My original controller will still connect to my console. The new one works via USB and there are no updates
available for it. Does anyone have any solutions?

 

Does the Xbox One S console have Bluetooth Capability? I.E Bluetooth Headsets

There is no Bluetooth radio component in the Xbox One S console itself.

The controllers connect to the Xbox One S the same way the controllers connect to the original Xbox One: proprietary RF. You could technically connect an Xbox One S controller to an original Xbox One, and an original Xbox controller to the Xbox One S.

The Bluetooth functionality in the new Xbox One S controller is specifically made for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC with the "Anniversary" update, which has the drivers needed for the controller when connected via Bluetooth.
